Sr. Accountant
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Senior Accountant in our retail sector, located in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. This role involves comprehensive financial duties, including preparing journal entries, reviewing financial statements, and account reconciliation. Responsibilities: • Engage in the preparation of journal entries to facilitate the month-end closing process • Conduct thorough reviews of financial statements and complete account reconciliations in a timely manner • Provide commentary on any variances related to balance sheet and income statement accounts, and investigate any significant changes in business trends • Collaborate directly with the Treasury department to provide proof of cash and borrowing base schedules • Prepare schedules and conduct testing related to SOX controls and external audit requests • Coordinate with IT for system maintenance, addressing process issues, and facilitating project implementation • Document and maintain revenue-related sub-processes and standard operating procedures • Work in tandem with business partners from different departments (Accounting, Treasury, Stores, Asset Protection, Store Operations, IT) to answer queries and improve current processes • Develop partnerships with internal business leaders and vendors to improve the business through value-added services, analyses, and information sharing • Assist with the implementation of new software and technology solutions. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required. • Balance Sheet Reconciliation skills are necessary. • Applicants should be experienced in Bank Reconciliations. • Familiarity with General Ledger operations is a must. • Capability to handle Journal Entries is expected. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. • Experience with Month End Close procedures is needed. • Knowledge of Workday ERP system is preferred. • Experience with Oracle Inventory is a plus. • Familiarity with Oracle SQL is beneficial. • SQL skills are advantageous.
