Description
We are in the search for a Sr. Accountant to join a thriving company based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. As a Sr. Accountant, your role will encompass a range of tasks such as processing transactions, maintaining balance sheets, automating processes, and preparing for audits. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure accurate processing of transactions and schedules, utilizing advanced Excel functions such as index match and vlookups
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheets, ensuring they align with the preferred structure
• Implement process improvements and automation for transactions and schedules
• Oversee data cleanup to maintain accurate and efficient records
• Prepare for audits by ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date
• Assist in the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries
• Allocate bills to the appropriate departments for accurate tracking and reporting
• Utilize ERP software for various accounting tasks
• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
Requirements
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are desired
- Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience
- Experience with ERP systems
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Demonstrated skills in interacting effectively, both verbally and in writing, with functional managers
- Demonstrated knowledge of closing
- Experience with financial reporting
- Strong familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)
- Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation
- Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports
- Financial reporting systems proficiency
- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
- Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
