Description
We are thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Accountant in Victor, NY. This role offers a broad range of responsibilities, including account reconciliation, general ledger management, and various other accounting functions. As a Senior Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, offering recommendations for cost reduction and revenue growth, and assisting with audit preparations.
Responsibilities:
-Process and reconcile accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring precise financial reporting.
-Prepare and submit tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual schedule.
-Review account books to guarantee accuracy and operational efficiency.
-Develop strategies to optimize costs and enhance revenue streams.
-Regularly update and organize financial records.
-Accurately perform monthly bank reconciliations.
-Assess and set appropriate credit limits and terms for customers.
-Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) monthly, quarterly, and annually.
-Assist in preparing necessary documentation for external audits.
-Examine financial statements for inconsistencies and communicate with the Accounting Manager if needed.
-Collaborate with the Accounting Manager on semi-annual audits and inventory counts.
-Manage the accounts payable system, including maintaining data files, general ledger, and journal entries.
-Gain cross-functional experience in purchasing and procurement activities.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as an Accountant
• Bachelor's in Accounting
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and Excel Formulas
• Experience in month-end close procedures and monthly bank reconciliation
• Knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting requirements
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• CPA certification is a plus, but not required
