Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our financial reporting team. This role involves handling complex general ledger accounts, performing month-end close activities, and providing detailed financial analysis. You will work closely with operating managers and executive management, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to internal controls. This is a fully remote position for candidates in PST or MST time zones.
ResponsibilitiesPerform account reconciliations for assigned accounts, including complex general ledger accounts.Execute month-end close activities, such as preparing journal entries for all assigned areas.Make judgmental estimates with proper support and documentation.Conduct monthly analysis and provide commentary on period-over-period changes and variances to budget/forecast.Analyze accounts and resolve discrepancies.Ensure all accruals are recorded properly.Review operating expense accounts to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and provide commentary on changes.Investigate and follow up on account inquiries from operating managers.Maintain detailed supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts.Enhance processes and ensure internal controls are followed.Prepare schedules for auditors.Communicate frequently with functional business leaders via face-to-face, video, and telephonic meetings.Assist in analyses and investigations as needed for meetings with executive management, such as operational reviews, annual budgets, and strategic plans.Provide assistance to other team members as needed.Ensure regular attendance as an essential function of the job.Essential SkillsExperience with month-end close processes (4-5 days).Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.Experience in high-volume, multi-site accounting (50+ sites nationally).Strong general ledger accounting skills.Knowledge of US GAAP, accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting.Ability to develop, improve, document, and follow processes.Ability to deliver high-quality work while meeting deadlines.Strong oral and written communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proactive approach to taking on projects from idea through completion.Excellent project management, organizing, and planning skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.Experience with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.Experience with financial reporting for multiple locations.Work Environment
This is a fully remote position for the financial reporting part of the accounting team. Candidates must be located in PST or MST time zones. You will report to the Controller and have regular one-on-one meetings. Despite being fully remote, the team has built a great culture. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $47.00 - $49.00/hr.
