Description
We are offering an engaging opportunity for a Sr. Accountant with expertise in QuickBooks, located in Birmingham, Alabama. The function of this role is to assist in the Construction/Contractor industry, where the candidate will work on-site, focusing on different aspects of accounting and QuickBooks management. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity which offers a flexible part-time schedule.
Responsibilities:
• Utilize QuickBooks online software to manage and organize financial data
• Ensure reconciliation of bank statements and balance sheets
• Update and maintain the general ledger and journal entries
• Perform monthly closing procedures
• Handle account reconciliation efficiently
• Advise on necessary actions to rectify issues in QuickBooks
• Work with Microsoft Excel for client data management
• Assist in the cleanup of company books, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate
• Offer insights on QuickBooks optimization for future processes.
Requirements
• Proficient in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online, with a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
• Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately represented.
• Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Experience with bank reconciliations, ensuring the company's records align with bank statements.
• Proficiency with general ledger functions, maintaining and updating financial records.
• Expertise in creating journal entries, accurately recording financial transactions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create spreadsheets, charts, and pivot tables.
• Experience with month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
• Construction or Contractor industry experience is preferred, with an understanding of industry-specific financial practices.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
