Jhpiego is seeking a Senior Advisor, Strategy and Partnerships for each of our 3 regional Hubs (Asia/Middle East, Anglophone Africa, Francophone/Lusophone Africa and LAC). The Senior Advisor, Strategy and Partnerships will work closely with the Senior Hub Directors as well as the Senior Proposal Managers to strengthen Jhpiego’s overall partnerships, donor engagement, and business development.
The Senior Advisor, Strategy and Partnership will provide coordination, support and guidance with identifying funding opportunities for Jhpiego that align with broader regional/country goals and Jhpiego’s mission. They will also apply best practices and standard operating procedures to ensure proposal teams meet timelines and deliverables, escalating highly complex matters to capture manager or supervisor, collaborating on solutions and approaches when needed.
Applying critical thinking skills, the Senior Advisor, Strategy and Partnership will analyse new opportunities aligned with Jhpiego frameworks and country team strategies and make recommendations. They will also help strengthen capacity in NPD by building a highly capable team that is well-equipped to secure funding for high-impact programs in the Hub region.
The Senior Advisor, Strategy and Partnership will be an organized, rapid learner with excellent written and oral communication skills who is eager to translate and share knowledge while working with and through program technical and multi-disciplinary teams. The selected candidate can expect to grow core competencies in developing and refining theories of change, understanding/facilitating and/or drafting compelling proposal content and sharpening draft narrative. The successful candidate will bring acumen working under pressure and managing multiple tasks to tight deadlines for a variety of internal and external audiences.
This position is to be based in Anglophone Africa. This role is exclusively open to candidates who are already located in any of the countries where Jhpiego currently operates.
ResponsibilitiesStrategy/Business Development
Proactively identify funding opportunities for Jhpiego that align with broader regional/country goals and Jhpiego’s Identify key strategic donors in the region, and proactively meet with governments (with country teams) and donors (public and private) to generate Represent Jhpiego to potential donors with the aim of securing new In collaboration with the Sr Hub Director, support Country Directors to develop resource mobilization/strategic plans.Work with the Sr Hub Director and Country Directors to Develop and write strategic concept notes based on potential and existing funding Research funding sources, funding analyses and trends, to strategically guide new business opportunities, positioning, and Work with the Sr Hub Director and Country Directors to develop key positioning events, to raise Jhpiego’s visibility with stakeholders and donors.Work with the Sr Hub Director and Country Directors to undertake Leads development and management, including donor and partner landscaping, competitive analyses, and partner Work with Sr Hub Director, Country Directors, GPTE and NPD to refine pitch ideas, identify donors, and undertake strategic outreach related to pitchesMonitor regional and country growth and provide regular updates to Country Directors, the Sr Hub Director, and NPD leadership.Represent Jhpiego’s business development interests at relevant meetings, events and within donor-specific networks.Strategic Partnerships
Work with the Sr Hub Director and Country Director to Identify relevant organizations to partner with, including public, private sector and local implementing partners, and develop strategic In coordination with other Jhpiego departments, develop and roll out partnership and positioning strategy, in line with Jhpiego’s overall business developmentDevelop, manage, and strengthen relationships with current regional and local partners in order to maintain trust in Jhpiego’s professional standard and quality of work among all stakeholders.Represent Jhpiego and communicate Jhpiego’s priorities at meetings and events, for growing partner relationships and collaboration.Proposal Design and Development
Oversee pre-solicitation proposal preparations and bid planning, as needed within the Hub, including development of strategic partnerships and teaming, bid strategy, and win themes.Coordinate participation of other regional and home office staff to support the country team to be prepared ahead of live funding Serve as Proposal Writer on bids, leading the proposal writing including ensuring that the narrative is cohesive, responsive to the donor, and Serve as occasional Proposal Manager, managing the overall proposal process to ensure responsiveness and serving as the primary point of contact for the proposal with both internal and external audiences.Serve as occasional Proposal Design Lead, guiding and executing the proposal design process, and ensuring that all aspects of the proposal are responsive to donor and in line with Jhpiego proposal qualityCapacity Building

Total compensation will be based on the country of hire and Jhpiego’s local compensation plan.
