Sr. Analyst, Corporate Accounting

Summary: 

The Sr. Analyst Corporate Accounting is a key contributor to the global consolidation and reporting for The Hershey Company as part of the Consolidations and Statutory Reporting team.

 

The Sr. Analyst Corporate Accounting will monitor month-end close activities, oversee intercompany eliminations, prepare and support in preparing cash flow statements for each legal entity, ensure proper classification of Non-GAAP and segment reporting, currency revaluation and translation as well as other critical consolidation accounting and reporting activities.  This role will be involved in accounting for non-operational legal entity transactions including but not limited to step-plan accounting and Day 1 M&A integration activities. The role is expected to participate in the quarterly review process, prepare & deliver financial results for the external reporting team and develop monthly executive financial Chief Operating Decision Maker (CODM) reporting.

 

This role is expected to execute timely completion of SOX controls & documentation, including account reconciliations and task lists. This role will heavily use S/4 SAP, Group Reporting Blackline and Workiva

 

This role will partner with other members of the controllership, financial data systems (FDS), global business services (HBP), tax, FP&A, internal and external auditor teams.

 

 

 

Major Responsibilities:

Support the Controllership team in the Monthly / Quarterly / Annual Global Close enforcing timely financial reporting close process (Daily tracker).  Run specific Close week detail processes including foreign Currency (Valuation & Translation). Complete Blackline monthly close tasks and assigned postings, ensure intercompany eliminations are properly executed, reviewed, reconciled and documented.

Work on Post Close Analysis as Needed to support & document Top Sides and run top level reconciliations of BS and P&L in the S4 & Group Reporting system.  Book Posting via BL in S4 as needed based on outcome of analysis.

Execute GR Consolidation Tasks & report generation via GR MACRO to publish Monthly Prelim & Final Finance & CODM Reports.

Prepare monthly legal entity and consolidated cash flow statements.

Proactively review controls to ensure they remain relevant as processes and systems change.  Work on Reconciliations reviews to find opportunities of process improvement via better use of Blackline, support deployment of approved improvements into Controllers. Support the reduction of Manual Journal entries by implementing Automation or process changes.

Participate in quarterly financial review meetings and execute financial statement reviews of each business units.

Participate in S4 training sessions as needed to become a SME for the Controller team close activities assigned to the role to be able to execute in the S4 (and Group Reporting).

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Including Foreign Currency Transactions Excellent verbal and written communication skills with technical and non-technical individuals. Strong critical thinking / analytical, and organizational skills  Experience on financial transaction processing, general ledger, financial reporting, and planning Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Exposure to SAP and Blackline financial tools preferred Strong proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and Word Aspiration to grow within the company

 

 

 

Experience and Education Requirements:

Education: BA/BS in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA Preferred

Experience: 3-5 years of business experience, including Accounting, Finance; prior experience with a global public company
