The Supply Chain optimization senior analyst will be responsible for data analytics as well as building and refining models to evaluate the savings, service, and risk implications of changes to operations and future state re-designs of the supply chain. The position will evaluate the trade-offs of DC facility costs, transportation costs, inventory carrying costs, service levels, variability, risk, and other factors in order to help leadership make effective, informed decisions about the Newell Brands supply chain.
Responsibilities
Provide structured and creative analysis to identify performance improvement opportunities and effectively communicate findings with internal clients Perform ad hoc analysis to support supply chain decision-making by senior management Support the implementation of strategic supply chain changes at a tactical level with Business Unit leadership teams Manage tracking of savings opportunities and report on variances from projections Anticipate customers’ impact from changes; use pricing as mechanisms to affect change Understand key performance levers (cost-service trade-offs, on-time delivery, cost basis, feasibility, etc.) and implement solutions to improve these metrics Partner with project team members to provide 360-degree feedback between supply chain modeling and execution Lead team weekly stand-up call: establish agenda, facilitate, document key points and action items
Qualifications
1+ years of job experience in supply chain and/or project management (or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply complex technical skills) Some working knowledge of the principles of network and inventory optimization and how optimization is performed using software packages Experience in analyzing and profiling both source and transformed data Some familiarity with planning, forecasting, transportation, inventory management, and/or strategic sourcing Experience in industrial engineering, project management, or supply chain management A degree in engineering, management, operations, supply chain, data science, or a related field is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional listening skills. Seeks to first understand others Strong attention to detail Database (e.g. SQL Server) and data transformation (Alteryx, Databricks, and/or SQL) skills desired Data visualization skills (Power BI, Tableau, supply chain maps, etc.) desired Exposure to SAP, SAP Business Objects, and SAP Business Warehouse (BW) preferred Some understanding of transportation costs and terms for various modes (truckload, LTL, parcel, intermodal, and ocean freight) preferred Experience in Consumer Goods preferred
