The Depositary has an important role in investor protection and is responsible for the safekeeping of the fund’s assets.
The Depositary also has oversight responsibilities of the manager’s operations and monitoring the fund’s cash flows.
Northern Trust’s Depositary function in the UK has seen exponential growth and success in acquiring new business since its launch 10 years ago.
This growth has moved Northern Trust’s Depositary business to No.1 in the UK market, supporting more than 30 asset management firms and servicing more than $600 billion in assets under depositary.
To support this business growth, we are looking for candidates that are open to a career within Depositary Services and have a fair amount of the following qualities:
Knowledge of UK fund structures (OEIC, UT, ACS, LTAF, AIFs), investment strategies and asset classesKnowledge and interest in regulatory compliance of FCA rules for Manager and Depositary responsibilities, including change events throughout a funds lifecycle.Previous relevant compliance experience preferred but not essential.Effective communication, presentation and relationship management skillsExcellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work both individually and as part of a Team.Efficient in MS Office toolsIn this role the selected candidate will:
Keep abreast of UK, EU and International regulatory developments impacting the Depositary business and the asset management industry.Provide analysis of regulatory developments impacting the Depositary business and its clients and disseminate to the business.Review fund documentationWorking with Us:
