Job SummaryThis position is a shared role between Legal, Compliance, Finance/Accounting and Sustainability teams focused on the Company’s ESG and other regulatory reporting requirements in the United States and Europe. Primary responsibilities currently include assisting in the collection, preparation and analysis of reports focused on the requirements of Carhartt’s ESG-related commitments as well as any other Legal reporting requirements. Regulatory inquiries, newly announced disclosure requirements, and additional sustainability initiatives will expand the scope of the role’s responsibilities. Key deliverables include implementation and reporting of regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. CSRD, EPR Reporting, etc.), preparing materials to deliver to senior management, and managing external disclosures and reports. The applicant should also possess the ability and confidence to work well with a broad range of teams across the company consistently helping to develop high-level reports.

Representative Responsibilities
+ Work with Finance/Accounting, Legal and Sustainability teams to develop, document, and execute the external reporting for CSRD, EPR and other reporting requirements, leveraging use of technology where appropriate
+ Act as a liaison between Finance/Accounting, Sustainability, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Human Resources, as well as other functions to establish proper processes and controls around ESG-related disclosures and other regulatory reporting requirements
+ Partner with IT and other business partners to investigate how to use available data sources to submit high-quality, consistent and auditable data reports
+ Conduct comprehensive research on ESG or regulatory topics and industry benchmarking to support Carhartt’s external reporting requirements
+ Partner with stakeholders to analyze data and trends to produce insightful reports, papers, and presentations that support decision-making.
+ Partner with Sustainability on execution of formal ESG governance policies and practices in support of mandatory reporting requirements to ensure information is accurate, complete, and in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards
+ Maintain strong relationships with external auditors as needed to coordinate their roles in the review, oversight, and assurance to certain aspects of mandatory and voluntary ESG or other regulatory reporting
+ Partner with relevant internal departments to assist in benchmarking of ESG disclosures relative to our peers, other corporate ESG leaders, industry trends, and best practices
+ Work with 3rd party providers to understand, compile, and submit reporting
Required Education
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or other business discipline (e.g. Sustainability Management, Environmental Economics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Data Analytics) or equivalent experience
Required Skills & Experience
+ Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in ESG and/or Sustainability for consumer product company. Will also consider experience in Public Accounting or in a comparable industry
+ Knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting including scope 1, 2, and 3 preferred
+ Familiarity with ESG-related disclosures (GRI, TCFD, SaSB, etc.) and industry trends, and willing to develop expertise, is preferable but not required
+ Experience and knowledge of U.S. and European ESG reporting frameworks (CSRD, ERP Reporting, etc.) or similar preferred
+ Must be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills, experience with Power BI preferred
+ Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities (e.g., time management and efficiency)
+ Strong analytical skills (e.g., identify and research issues/outliers)
+ Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
+ An understanding of ESG terminology is preferable but not required
+ Self-motivated and results driven
+ Team player with strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an organization
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
+ Typical office environment: cubicle setting or combined with home office
+ Extended periods of time sitting, standing, typing on a computer
+ Limited travel required up to 5% (both domestic and international)
+ Willing to work overtime including weekends, if necessary
+ This position has a Remote location: Associate will have no regular requirement to be on-site. Travel on-site is limited to special events.
