Job Title: Sr Associate, Accounting Job Code: 20198 Job Location: Palm Bay, FL. Schedule: 9/80 Regular Job Description: We are seeking a Sr Associate, Accounting to support accounting compliance and internal controls for the IMS Segment, reporting to the IMS Segment Director of Technical Accounting and Controls. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills, an understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), experience with internal controls and a basic understanding of US Government rules for defense contractors including FAR and DFARS concepts. Essential Functions: + Perform assigned research of technical accounting topics + Perform procedures and monitoring to ensure controls are designed and operating effectively to address risk and maintain compliance with accounting policies + Proactively identify and implement process improvements + Prepare ad-hoc reporting and assist with special projects, as requested + Support Audits (External Audit, Internal Audit, SOX, and Self Evaluation Testing) Qualifications: + U.S. Citizenship + Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field and minimum 2 years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field with a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. + Demonstrated proficiency in Excel + Demonstrated ability to interact with business stakeholders + Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Additional Skills: + Certified Public Accountant (CPA) + Strong customer service approach, self-directed, assertive, with a positive attitude + Exceptional organizational skills enabling monitoring of key due dates and activities + Experienced team builder + Flexible planner in terms of daily activities with ability to adeptly react to changing requirements and priorities + Ability to develop broad, cooperative relationships with numerous groups and individuals + Experience in commercial environments and the Aerospace and Defense industry #LI-LT1 L3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
