Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 2 Linux Administrator with Windows Server experience to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our Linux and Windows based infrastructure. The role requires a resourceful individual comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Essential Functions:

Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and associated software in a multi-platform environment. Manage Windows Server infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and operation with Linux systems.Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of all systems.Implement and oversee security protocols, conduct system backups, and ensure data recovery processes are in place.Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.Create and maintain documentation on system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.Apply OS updates, patches, and configuration changes.Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.Familiarity / Participate in disaster recovery exercises and actual events.Provide technical support and guidance to users and other team members.Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

Active CompTIA Security +Active RHCSABachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.Bachelor's degree in “Computer Science”, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.2-5 years of experience as a Linux Administrator, with hands-on experience managing Windows servers. A professional certification in Linux administration is preferred. Certifications such as LPIC, RHCSA, or CompTIA Linux+ are highly desirable.Strong knowledge of networking protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, SSH, FTP).Experience with virtualization technologies and container orchestration tools.Proficiency in automation and configuration management using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Familiarity with security compliance and best practices.Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
