SCOT's Regional team in Japan is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Business Intelligence Engineer who enjoys the challenge of diving into complex problems in the areas of limited shelf assortment and optimization decisions involving profitability trade-offs. The focus will be on substitution application for targeted business objectives (e.g. demand diversion, selection recovery), unblocking local experimentation and scaling automated actions based on underlying economics and customer demand signals

You will work closely with Scientists, Product Managers, and Supply Chain Managers to build scalable, high insight- high impact products and own improvements to business outcomes within your area, enabling execution of WW and local solutions for next generation selection/assortment systems.

The successful candidate will have strong quantitative data mining and modeling skills and be comfortable working on new and sometimes ambiguous problems from concept through to execution. They will have strong communication and leadership skills, will be able to collaborate with other teams (e.g. software development, economists, data engineering) and to present findings to senior audiences to drive business improvements. We expect this candidate to raise the bar on any of the following categories: Data Warehousing, Data Architecture, Performant Self Service Toolsets and Data analytics. Candidate might be willing to work with the others BIEs in order to solve organizational problems at scale and setting the grounds of a healthy data products offer while delivering what is required by business.

Key job responsibilities
• Design / Build / Scale
a. Gather requirements from internal or external customers and work backwards those to design analytical solutions to solve business needs.
b. Create end-to-end analytical solutions (i.e. Datasets, data pipelines, dashboards, predictive models, process automation, etc.) which scale worldwide using technologies such as Redshift, Datanet, Quicksight, Cradle, Python, etc.
c. Contribute to and follow best practices for development of analytical solutions components including query optimization, table design and data visualization.
• Deep Dive into Systems
Understand the functioning of Selection/Assortment systems and their upstream and downstream interactions with other SCOT systems in order to produce better and faster analytical products.
