What’s in it For You: 
The Sr. Business Development Manager, Digital Solutions role in the Life Sciences business is designed to grow partnerships with Life Sciences customers by working alongside them at their facilities to identify areas for improvement using new digital technologies. Ecolab is launching new digital solutions designed for the Life Sciences industry and this role you will be responsible for growing our business using these new solutions. 

 

In this role you will be expected to identify, build relationships and sell digital technologies to the Life Sciences industry. You will work alongside the Ecolab team to facilitate discussions targeted at digital solutions and advance customer conversations to wins. This role will work from beginning to end through the customer buying journey for our digital solutions to grow our business quickly. There will be a growth target associated with this role with an existing pipeline to leverage. In this role you will be supported by industry experts, local team members and a technical support team to ensure success. Training of the new digital solutions will be available to ensure the success of this role.  

 

This role will be based in North America, but responsibilities include liaising with customers and the sales team internationally as needed. 

 

What You Will Do: 

Lead business development for new digital solutions for the Life Sciences market 

Prospect any potential new business opportunities with internal partners and network within the industry among providers and clients alike 

Grow business quickly and achieve growth targets by leveraging new digital technology 

Maintain a solid sales pipeline and ensure collaboration with other team members 

Attend client meetings and lead presentations/demos of digital solutions 

Provide technical expertise and understanding on the qualifications surrounding GMP related cleaning and validation procedures. 

Partner with technical support team to address customer requests and implementations 

Regularly meet with customer or support staff during the project startup phase to review timelines, project deliverables, evaluate staffing levels and submit revised proposals accordingly. 

Build strong professional networks and appropriately leverage contacts to establish and/or maintain business. 

Partner with Marketing and other Sales teams to optimize messaging and to improve the digital solutions 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in Science, Business, Engineering or Information Technology  

4 years of selling digital solutions or software preferably to manufacturing and/or Life Science industry 

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets 

Ability to take initiative, work independently and prioritize multiple projects with strong follow-through 

Flexibility to work on and control different projects at the same time while still meeting set deadlines 

 Ability to travel 30 – 60% within North America based on customer needs  

Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills 

Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record 2 years 

Ability to obtain international travel visas as required 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Master's degree in business, Science or Engineering  

5 years of practical experience in the Life Sciences industry 

Experience with product or equipment validation 

Proven experience with process improvement in manufacturing 

Experience in understanding/troubleshooting of cleaning and sanitization for Life Sciences customers

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

Total compensation range is $149,000 – $223,000. This position has base salary and is eligible for incentive compensation based on performance, per plan terms.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range is based on full-time 40 hours per week. Ecolab in good faith anticipates it will pay within the posted range. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining the compensation for a potential new employee such as education, training, experience, work location, travel (if required), etc.
