Description
We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Buyer in Northern Kentucky. This role requires an individual who can streamline the procurement process of goods and services, ensuring supply reliability and quality. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing purchase orders and ensuring their accurate and timely delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Streamline the procurement process to reduce purchasing expenses and ensure supply reliability and quality.
• Conduct vigilant oversight of purchase orders to confirm successful and accurate deliveries.
• Scrutinize company requirements such as quantity and specifications, and place purchase orders with suitable vendors who offer optimal pricing, considering factors such as cost, quality, delivery speed, and reliability.
• Develop procurement strategies, such as blanket orders, stock arrangements, and service contracts, to consolidate needs and maximize company savings.
• Handle contract development, pricing and delivery negotiations, priority setup, vendor selection, and order placement to meet customer needs.
• Enhance supplier service levels and punctual delivery by speeding up the order process.
• Respond promptly to manufacturing, engineering, and office requests arising from supplier-related issues, like meeting deadlines and delivery schedules.
• Ensure accuracy and promptness of information within business systems.
• Collaborate effectively with the accounts team and other buyers to rectify inconsistencies between data on purchase orders and supplier's invoices.
• Conduct root cause analysis and enforce permanent corrective solutions to any procurement related issues.
Requirements • Must hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Proven experience in a Sr. Buyer role or similar position in procurement
• In-depth knowledge of purchasing functions and procurement best practices
• Proficient in using SAP or similar ERP systems
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to analyze market trends and apply insights to procurement strategies
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
• Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
