Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SR. Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for entering and maintaining supplier database information in the business management system, requesting quotes from multiple suppliers, and building and maintaining a strong supplier base. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a continuous supply of required goods and materials while negotiating pricing and terms of service to reduce costs and improve quality.
Responsibilities
+ Enter and maintain supplier database information in the business management system.
+ Request quotes from multiple suppliers and partnerships to achieve win/win solutions on pricing and delivery.
+ Build and maintain a supplier base by selecting appropriate suppliers based on price, lead time, and quantity.
+ Accurately create, follow-up, and expedite supplier purchase orders or purchase requisitions.
+ Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers, including current, new, and potential suppliers.
+ Maintain assigned supplier scorecards, investigate supplier responses, and develop strategic improvements as directed by the department manager.
+ Document, measure, and work with suppliers to improve supplier performance in terms of product quality and on-time delivery.
+ Audit supplier procedures and documentation using ISO requirements as a baseline.
+ Address minor and major product/service issues with suppliers and provide solutions.
+ Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ERP systems for daily assigned tasks.
+ Research potential new suppliers' abilities and products while maintaining good relationships with existing suppliers.
+ Perform cost analysis of current and future products/suppliers associated with the scope of work.
+ Ensure a continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems that may pose a risk or impact business operations.
+ Negotiate pricing and terms of service, finding ways to reduce costs while maintaining/improving the quality of purchased goods or services.
+ Develop and implement innovative procurement strategies based on company goals.
+ Assess and evaluate suppliers, undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance, and manage performance improvement activities.
+ Investigate vendor responses and make necessary improvements as directed by leadership.
Essential Skills
+ 7+ years of buying/purchasing experience.
+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
+ Experience with ERP systems.
+ Ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
+ Strong negotiation skills.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Supply Chain Management Degree or equivalent experience.
+ 3-5 years of experience in metal manufacturing/fabrication business preferred.
+ 1-3 years of experience with applied coatings and chemical treatments preferred.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
