Gannett Fleming is looking for an experienced Senior CADD Designer to lead and oversee all drafting operations for the Transportation Business Line in our Northwest Austin location.
The Senior CADD Designer will coordinate with professional staff in scheduling work and assigning support staff to their projects, ultimately responsible for deliverables at submission periods, checking conformance to client CAD design standards, meeting industry best practices and maintaining the high level quality expected by Gannett Fleming.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and Develop drawing folder structures, file naming conventions and drawing revision/versions.Be the Subject Matter Expect regarding client standards and procedures. Set up client’s templates, standards and specific project instructions. Set up the initial sheet templates to be used for all disciplines. Set up and manage the base files and reference drawings (surveying) for use of CAD drafters. Lead the preparation and review of drawing packages to be submitted to clients for third party reviews, reports, or submissions. Provide leadership to CAD designers and drafters to ensure consistency and reinforce the use of templates, naming conventions and standards. Establish and maintain good communications and relationships with clients and develop key contacts with internal and external stakeholders. Mentor and share knowledge and skills with junior staff or new employees. Provide proactive coordination between disciplines. Assist all disciplines with design changes based on your expertise.Develop and implement operational procedures, methods, and work systems to ensure effective and efficient internal operations.Incorporating and compiling multiple sub-plans/designs into consolidated master plan.Quality review (QC/QA) of CAD files and submission drawingsMinimum requirements:
Technical degree or equivalent from an accredited technical college.Requires ten plus (10+) years of demonstrated relevant experience in the production and management of multi discipline design and ACAD drawings and drawing environments using ACAD Civil 3D, Storm and Sanitary Analysis and Corridors environment. Formal training and experience in Civil 3D is considered a strong asset.Ability to communicate complex design and planning issues to internal and external stakeholders including project team, and department management.Experience with the City of Austin CADD standards or permitting process is an asset.
