**The Opportunity**
The **Sr. Calibration Technician** position works out of our Sylmar, CA location in the **Cardiac Rhythm Management** Division.
As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias or irregular heartbeats.
This role requires a professional with leadership skills, a deep understanding of electrical and electronic systems, and the ability to perform complex calibration tasks. Upgrade calibration equipment and automate repetitive calibration processes. Review/validate complex calibration procedures and software and establish new measurement standards. Provide regulation compliance recommendations for GMP, FDA, ISO 9000, ISO 13485, ISO 17025, ASTM, ANSI and NCSLI. Perform outside calibration supplier evaluation. Install and maintain equipment, scheduling and history databases. Assist in designing measurement systems for product test and process control. Perform complex multi-discipline electrical, dimensional and physical calibrations on all SJM measurement and process control equipment. Develop and write calibration procedures based on component specifications using spreadsheet, flow chart and word processing software and programming software. Review documentation, checklists and manuals for accuracy and completeness. Perform data analysis, measurement studies and calibration certificate analysis. Participate in professional organizations and committees to set the standards and requirements for education, calibration and measurement assurance programs. Assist in designing measurement systems for product test and process control.
**What You'll Work On**
+ Past leadership experience with proven ability to successfully coach, train and lead a high performance team in a fast pace environment
+ Good communication skills with the ability to speak clearly, intelligently, and confidently at all levels of the organization
+ SME in field of metrology with ability to support Engineering Projects and equipment integration.
+ Supports Quality as a SME during internal and external audits
+ Maintains Calibration documentation to ensure current and accurate calibration processes are being followed and performed
+ Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to Conduct out-of-tolerance evaluations for lab standards, including reverse stress analysis and error calculations, to assess potential impacts on devices under test.
+ This role requires hands-on work in a laboratory setting with electrical equipment. The candidate must be comfortable working with high-voltage and sensitive instruments.
+ Develop and implement automation processes for calibration tasks on electrical equipment to improve efficiency and accuracy.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation tools and systems.
**Required Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma / GED OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience
+ Minimum 10 years in metrology preferred
+ Strong background in electrical and electronic systems, with proven experience in calibrating complex electrical equipment.
+ Proficiency in automation tools and techniques for calibration processes.
+ Demonstrated leadership abilities, including coaching and team development.
+ Lead by example, fostering a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
+ Stay updated on advancements in calibration technology and recommend improvements to current processes.
+ Act as a technical resource for team members, guiding them in solving complex calibration challenges.
+ Perform regular audits of calibration processes to maintain the integrity of lab standards.
**Preferred Skills:**
1-2 years in a senior or leadership role preferred
Knowledge of advanced calibration software and tools.
Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., ISO 17025, FDA).
Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools.

The base pay for this position is $28.95 – $57.95 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
