OverviewPlayDigital is seeking a Sr. Cloud Architect to work in conjunction with Cloud DevOps and other architect stakeholders to ensure Cloud-related architecture solutions are consistent with industry best practices for optimal reliability, and efficiencies.
This position requires hands-on architecture work experience with a blend of cloud migration experience and a history of running modern SaaS applications, on-premise and public cloud infrastructure.
The position will collaborate across the organization to contribute with architectural solutions for our Cloud migration plan. With its expertise, this role supports the Cloud DevOps teams as well as advising senior management on Cloud deployment strategies.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Support our ongoing adoption of cloud-native solutions, fault-tolerant systems, and high levels of automation and observability
• Establish IT’s AWS economics practice in partnership with DevOps org and Business analysts to ensure infrastructure costs are optimized and aligned with budgetary expectations
• Work closely with our Platform Support, Infrastructure Engineering, Information Security and Developer Experience teams
• Contribute to a culture of high performance, collaboration, observability, and transparency
• The Cloud Architect is expected to be a disruptive force in the business identifying processes and systems that would benefit from rethinking the way PlayDigital scales our applications and workflows. The successful candidate will evangelize emerging technologies that would fit for adoption in our Cloud Solution.
• Contribute to Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) by making iterative improvements to our AWS infrastructure, tagging strategy, base images, multi-regional configuration, and security posture in collaboration with the production infrastructure engineering team
Work Location:
This position can be remote from home in the U.S.
• 10+ years of relevant technical leadership and hands-on experience with Major Public Cloud technologies, with strong preference in AWS.
• Track record in modern software architectures and the required underlying platforms.
• Experience working with DevOps or ITOps teams, supporting CI/CD pipeline, working with software delivery organizations to lead both operational excellence and adaptability.
• Experience with Continuous Delivery practices, Agile/SAFe like processes, across a large organization.
• Experienced in contributing to migrations from data centers to major cloud providers, with valuable insights into avoiding common pitfalls and challenges.
• Experienced in innovating platform automation and working with CSPs and IDPs.
• Experienced in designing and managing successful platform components, including their architecture, durability, provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Exceptional collaboration skills and a partnership-oriented mindset. Zero tolerance for "not invented here" mentality.
• Experience with or knowledge of a relevant subset of the following technologies is required: PHP (Framework Symfony/Laravel/Lumen), RESTful API Design (OAS 3.0), SOAP, Angular, TCP Network packets and network protocols, Linux, Continuous Build/Integration/Delivery tools (i.e dockers, TeamCity, bamboo, Kubernetes), SQL, python, JavaScript, HTML5, C++, Java, NoSQL, Big Data Platforms, Unit/Integration Testing, Jira and Confluence.

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $83,696-$220,000. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses.
