Volt is immediately hiring for a Sr. CNC Programmer in Oceanside, CA.

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n

POSITION SUMMARY

\r\n\r\n

Create, modify and document programs to control path machining or processing of parts for multi-axis computer numerical control (“CNC”) machines utilizing Mastercam or other software. CNC machines programs intended for lathes, multi-axis spindles and milling machines to cut away material from a solid block of metal.

\r\n\r\n

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tWrite or modify advanced close tolerance programs for CNC machines in the language of the machine’s controller.\r\n\tAnalyze drawings, sketches, blueprints and/or schematics of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, machine speeds and feed rates, according to knowledge of machining processes, part specifications and machine capabilities.\r\n\tDetermine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into desired shapes.\r\n\tDetermine and document reference points and direction of machine cutting paths.\r\n\tWrites program of machine instructions to regulate movement of machine along cutting path.\r\n\tWrites instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide setup and operation of machine.\r\n\tRevise programs to eliminate errors or omissions and retest programs to check that problems have been resolved.\r\n\tMay operate machine to test program effectiveness.\r\n\tWork with cross-functional teams to ensure program effectiveness.\r\n\tObserve machine operation to prove programmed instructions are accurate and/or troubleshoot in-process machining issues that may arise.\r\n\tDemonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tOther duties as assigned, requested or needed.\r\n\r\n\r\n

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tHigh school diploma or General Education Development (GED).\r\n\tMinimum 10 years Mastercam programming experience or equivalent of education and experience.\r\n\tMinimum 5 years CNC machining experience preferred.\r\n\tExperience with Mastercam programming software preferred.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tKnowledge of alloys and metals such as Inconel, titanium, stainless steel.\r\n\tKnowledge of Fanuc, and Mitsubishi controllers.\r\n\tKnowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software.\r\n\tKnowledge of computer and computer systems to program.\r\n\tKnowledge of and experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT)\r\n\tAbility to understand and follow standard operating and safety procedures.\r\n\tAbility to prioritize and handle workflow.\r\n\tAbility to pay attention to detail and thorough in completing tasks.\r\n\tRead and comprehend verbal and written instructions.\r\n\r\n\r\n
