Description
We are looking for an experienced Trade Compliance Manager to join our team in Rock Hill, South Carolina. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a critical role in managing and ensuring adherence to trade compliance regulations, with a focus on customs requirements, tariff classifications, and import/export processes. This role requires a strong understanding of compliance standards and the ability to work independently to drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the classification and accuracy of tariff codes, country of origin, and other critical trade compliance details.
• Ensure all imports, including metals and steel commodities, meet U.S. customs regulations and avoid potential fines or fees.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to develop, implement, and enforce compliance policies and standards.
• Manage the preparation and submission of import/export documentation and declarations.
• Monitor and stay updated on tariff changes, trade regulations, and international transportation requirements.
• Conduct screenings for sanctioned parties and ensure compliance with free trade agreements and trade preferences.
• Provide expertise on Mexican and Canadian customs regulations, when applicable.
• Utilize systems such as SAP S/4HANA or similar trade compliance platforms to streamline compliance processes.
• Maintain detailed and organized records to support audits and ensure transparency in compliance operations.
• Offer guidance and training to relevant stakeholders on trade compliance best practices
Requirements • Must hold a Licensed Customs Broker certification.
• At least 5-7 years of experience in trade compliance or a related field.
• Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, tariff classifications, and import/export compliance processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA or similar trade compliance systems is highly desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey compliance requirements.
• Experience with international transportation and knowledge of Mexican and Canadian customs regulations is a plus.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently to achieve business objectives.
