What’s the role?

As a Sr. Compliance Manager of Business Process Excellence, you get to work with an astonishing team that plays a vital role in our company. Show case your skills and experience with process enhancement in aligning the strategic objectives of the SAP S/4HANA transformation initiative with a focus on comprehensive end-to-end (E2E) process optimization. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and interpreting regulatory requirements essential for the effective implementation of S/4HANA, ensuring that process designs and system architectures adhere to stringent compliance standards. The incumbent will play a vital leadership role by establishing structured compliance requirements derived from relevant norms and regulations. With an anticipatory approach to potential regulatory impacts, the Senior Compliance Manager will serve as a strategic advisor and critical challenger, influencing E2E process enhancements and guiding IT cross-functional integration to achieve organizational excellence and maintain regulatory integrity. Additionally, this role will actively manage the regulatory aspects of the current system and business service requirements, providing mentorship and support to Business Services throughout the project phase.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Identify potential regulatory requirements that are crucial for the transformation program. This involves staying updated on the regulatory landscape and translating these requirements into actionable insights for the organization.

One of the key responsibilities includes deriving requirements for process design and system architecture.

Ensure the alignment of business processes with the identified regulatory requirements.

Derive structured requirements from the identified regulatory norms, ensuring that these are clearly defined, communicated, and understood by all relevant stakeholders. This involves the effective translation of regulatory norms into practical requirements for the business.

Act as an advisor for the E2E processes and IT cross streams. They will challenge the existing processes, suggesting necessary changes and improvements. They will provide proactive advice, based on the implications of regulatory requirements, to help the organization achieve its business goals.

Incorporate thematically and technically relevant units within the ZEISS organization. This means working closely with different departments, understanding their unique needs, and ensuring that the derived regulatory requirements are applicable and beneficial across the organization.

Manage external consultants, which may include approving timesheets and managing budgets. This role requires effective leadership and management skills to ensure the consultants are aligned with the project objectives and are delivering value.

Leveraging project management tools and techniques, especially Jira, the Sr. Compliance Manager will plan, execute, and oversee projects related to compliance and business process excellence, ensuring they are completed within the defined scope, time, and budget.

Play a significant role in managing change within the organization. They will recognize the need for change, inspire others to embrace change, and act as a role model within the team. They will represent the program with knowledge and confidence in senior management rounds and act independently, creatively, flexibly, results-oriented, and value-oriented. 

Actively manage the regulatory aspects of the current system and business service requirements, providing mentorship and support to Business Services throughout the project phase.

Supervise the regulatory personnel to ensure adherence to all necessary regulations and standards.

Do you qualify?

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or a comparable course of study.

More than 10 years of professional experience, preferably in the environment of process compliance and/or auditing, revision control or comparable tasks within, for example, audits.

Knowledge in the context of medical technology and radiological device regulations e.g. FDA, ISO13485, MDR GDPR, HIPAA; as well as Computerized System Validation of SAP ERP systems, based on e.g. GAMP 5.

Safe handling of project management techniques and tools, especially Jira.

Proven experience and confident handling in interaction also with executives and top management.

Demonstrated ability to separate important discussions from unimportant ones.

Ability to provide guidelines for compliance with important regulations even without professional knowledge of the end-to-end streams and to question the work of the streams accordingly.

Certifications or training in Computerized System Validation, GAMP5, etc. is a plus.

Project Management Certification is a plus.

The annual pay range for this position is $120,000  – $140,000

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.

This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions.  ZEISS also offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan and paid time off.
