Sr. Consultant, P&C Agency Marketing

This role will be responsible for managing group-level messaging and activation strategies to improve brand health and awareness for the Nationwide Property & Casualty business.

This hybrid position is based in Columbus, OH. Candidates located near a Nationwide campus will collaborate in office 2 days per week and enjoy the flexibility of remote work the remaining days. Current Nationwide Remote Associates will also be considered.
 

Example responsibilities include:

Managing IA advertising – Lead P&C Marketing in defining our strategic objectives for paid media. Develop creative and media briefs, informing the development of our annual B2B media plan and in-market creative messages. Responsible for managing the working team and facilitating leader reviews and gaining alignment across stakeholders. Responsible for identifying opportunities to leverage the equity of enterprise campaigns and assets.B2B messaging – Own updates to the group-level story, ensuring our key messages fuel brand choice and align with current business objectives and priorities. Partner with business unit marketers to ensure consistency is threaded through business unit messages.Group-level agency value prop activation – Manage the strategy and execution of new initiatives intended to improve brand health and awareness and build equity in our group-level value proposition.Integrated planning – Manage the quarterly marketing planning process from pre-work to workshop facilitation to packaging and socializing the final plan. Coordinate across P&C Marketing, capturing a comprehensive and integrated view of the P&C Marketing plan for the given quarter.  Support the execution of brand health and brand lift studies to measure marketing’s effectiveness in improving awareness, brand perception and likelihood to recommend. Use insights to make recommendations on improvement opportunities.  Other duties as assigned. These projects will be the primary focus for this role; however, projects may change as business needs change.

Key Responsibilities:

Leads in the development and execution of strategies and plans that ensure long term sustainable growth of the business. Synthesizes data and uses this understanding to support identification and innovation of business building solutions.

Leads sophisticated projects and processes within area of responsibility to deliver results with multiple target completion dates and shifting priorities.

Implements digital and traditional marketing tactics and media, including creative development process, planning, and execution.

Leads creative development and provides specific feedback on look and feel and develops strong creative briefs.

Monitors emerging innovative trends in content, design and marketing tactics

Reviews and analyzes customer insights and analytics and tools to understand and forecast market, competitor and customer needs and behavior. Helps to define appropriate target audiences, evaluate sufficiency, and effectively get results with data-based decisions.

Ensures programs are on strategy and on schedule.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director/Associate Vice President/Vice President. This is an individual contributor and may manage a team based on organizational structure; may also lead virtual and project teams.

Typical Skills and Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field; graduate degree highly desirable.

License/Certification/Designation: Technical insurance designations such as CPCU, CLU, ChFC, FLMI considered a plus. Additional licensing may be required to hold this position and associates will need to acquire the required federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the designated time period. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails to acquire required licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.

Experience: Typically, 10 or more years related professional experience in marketing, field sales management, insurance or related field. Master’s degree may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirements as appropriate. Prior marketing development and project leadership exposure/experience preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of marketing methodologies, insurance and/or financial services products including regulatory environment, distribution systems, and customers preferred. Knowledge of product distribution methods. Ability to develop and review research studies, communicate research findings, market recommendations based on findings, develop and negotiate contracts/service agreements with internal/external contacts, and lead multiple projects planning projects. Ability to function independently or in a team environment. Demonstrates core marketing proficiencies, including strategy development, utilization of insights and analytics, building brand equity and developing effective marketing communications. Command of and ability to understand and deliver customer focus, operating capabilities, and strategic capabilities.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
