Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Contracts Manager for a field assignment located at our Gonzalez, LA facility.  As a Senior Contracts Manager, you will be one of the lead contract managers at the jobsite where your primary responsibilities will include managing up to four (4) Contracts Administrators, coordination with construction management, and provide regular reports to home office management regarding progress, claims, delays, etc.  You will also be responsible for managing the General Contractor / Mechanical, Electrical, & Instrumentation (ME&I) construction contract.  


Candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or other technical areas, 20 years of work experience including 15 years in construction related function. Candidate will have a demonstrated record of team leadership, leading sophisticated projects and of achieving results.  Candidate must have experience managing construction contracts in excess of $200 Million USD. 


Nature and Scope

The incumbent is accountable for developing, negotiating, implementing, and maintaining competitively helpful construction contracts, ensuring the execution strategy is best aligned to marketplace dynamics. The incumbent will be required to have intimate knowledge of construction supply markets globally. This position supports supplier/contractor relationship management to ensure alignment with Product Line strategies. This position challenges technical specifications, commercial practices, construction practices and business processes with a focus on driving cost-effective operations. Strong sourcing, contractual writing and negotiating skills are required. Procurement, construction management or project management experience is required to be proficient in setting the best strategies and securing the right contractors to bid Air Product projects on a global basis.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

BS Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or other technical area plus 20+ years’ experience, including people management.Master of Business Administration degree can be useful.15 years’ experience as a construction professionalExperience managing construction contracts in excess of $200M USD
