Sr. Counsel / Associate General Counsel - Institutional and Prime Services

You would own responsibilities that may include:

Draft and negotiate a wide range of prime brokerage, trading, and commercial contracts, including master lending agreements, account control agreements, external client agreements, and more.  Working closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate building, delivery, and marketing of new products. Supporting international expansion of custody, trading, settlement and related businesses. Managing legal and regulatory risks in a thoughtful and commercially practicable manner.     Escalating issues to senior team members as appropriate.         Pitching in whenever and wherever needed, even when not directly related to responsibilities described above.

 Your experience and skill set will cover many of the following:

4-6+ years of related law firm and/or in-house legal experience at a financial services or crypto company, ideally involving customer-facing sales, trading and/or custody.  Must have at least 2 years of experience advising or negotiating against institutional clients at a large law firm or bulge bracket bank. Strong understanding of the laws and regulation applicable to (i) transaction settlement, clearing, and securities lending, (ii) securities and derivatives regulation, and (iii) regulations relating to extensions of credit such as Regs T, X and U. Ability to balance multiple tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to assess and balance legal risks against business interests.  Interest in blockchain and digital assets. Flexible, “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn  While we are open to fully remote candidates, preference for candidates within the San Francisco, New York City, and Sioux Falls markets.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending upon your leveling and location, the compensation for this role averages between $220,000- $270,000 USD base salary. Equity, an annual performance bonus and the benefits outlined above are also a part of this role's package.
