You will be part of Shell Energy Trading’s Business Integration and Assurance (BIA) organization, a team of professionals who are passionate about enhancing our ability to trade with counterparties whilst maintaining our compliance and ethical standards.
What is the Role?
As the Counterparty Onboarding Manager, you will be instrumental in setting up and leading a new integrated organization where the customers experience is key. You will provide assurance and work with stakeholders across T&S to ensure robust resource plans are in place to capture capability and capacity requirements. In doing so, you will run a global team accountable in all aspects of supporting the T&S lines of business in its compliant execution of counterparty outreach and risk review.
You will be the central escalation point and conduit with Compliance looking to bridge Line of Defense 1 (LOD1) and Line of Defense 2 (LOD2) teams together at the same time as leading remediation of known issues identified via audit actions.
Drawing on expertise within your team, you will work with stakeholders across our Lines of Business (LOBs), Compliance and other global functions to understand their requirements and help them achieve excellent performance by ensuring they have the information and capability to work effectively.
More specifically, your role will include:
Lead and manage the global Shell Energy COF team in SBO Manila, including establishment of the overall vision and strategy for the team.
Provide direction, develop recommendations, and manage your teams’ performance in the areas of continuous improvement, process, performance, and capability management
Drive stakeholder consensus and managing what can sometimes be diverging options across these various stakeholder groups at a very senior level
Act as the conduit and business partner to Compliance especially when looking to solve cross Lines of Defense issues
Assess market and industry developments in relation to Counterparty Lifecycle management practices, integrating ideas or preparing briefings to the business as appropriate
What We Need from You?
You will be used to operating at a very senior level within Shell and be able to make a lasting impact through a combination of excellent team management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
You should be able to engage effectively across all levels of the T&S organization and other areas of the business as required (e.g. Shell T&S Compliance) and be able generate buy-in for the solutions you propose from operational levels all the way up to senior management.
You will be able to inspire the people in your team to work towards practical goals that have a real impact on our counterparties’ experience of doing business with Shell.
To succeed, the position requires:
Strategic thinker with 15-20 years of experience in managing global teams
Demonstrated experience with leading a business transformation
Strong understanding of the Financial Crime / KYC regulatory landscape
Good knowledge of CLCM systems and technology
Considerable experience working in role focused on structured problem solving and providing a service to the business, e.g. (internal) consultancy or operational excellence
Portfolio management experience, including the ability to manage programs of work and produce meaningful management information and updates
Proven change management skills in a complex stakeholder environment against a regulatory backdrop
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and partner effectively within a global leadership team
Excellent oral and written presentation skills including being skilled in using PowerPoint and Excel to present and structure information.
Commercial awareness & understanding of financial benefits definition and tracking
Robust written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization, both internally and externally, and engage with a wide range of stakeholders

Level of stakeholder tends to be leaders up to GM level as well as some up to VP/EVP level.
