Department Overview

Pharma Commercial Digital Solutions team builds automation, analytics and artificial intelligence solutions that drive success for Cardinal Health by creating material savings, efficiencies, and revenue growth opportunities. The team drives business innovation by leveraging emerging technologies and turning them into differentiating business capabilities.

What Data Analytics brings to Cardinal Health:

The Data & Analytics Function oversees the analytics life-cycle in order to identify, analyze and present relevant insights that drive business decisions and anticipate opportunities to achieve a competitive advantage. This function manages analytic data platforms, the access, design and implementation of reporting/business intelligence solutions, and the application of advanced quantitative modeling.

Data Analytics applies business process knowledge and data analytics to develop, recommend and communicate timely, accurate, relevant, and actionable insights to support business decisions and objectives.

Responsibilities

Leverages strong programming skills, particularly in SQL, and utilize various tools to evaluate performance and implement remedies to improve performance, including tuning database parameters and SQL statementsUses knowledge of business objectives and strategies (including business and data context) to identify opportunities where data repositories, machine learning models, and artificial intelligence algorithms can be leveraged to achieve dramatic business benefits.Uses SQL to prepare and analyze business data including locating, collecting, profiling, cleansing, extracting, mapping, importing, mining, transforming, validating or modeling from various internal and external data sources.Applies query, data exploration and transformation, basic statistical methods, and visualization techniques to create business insights or improve data quality around data biases, anomalies, errors, patterns, and trends.Communicates complex information (business and IT) so that it is easy to understand and influences others to act based on the useful information provided.Works across business users, analytics teams, data engineers, and data scientists to develop data needs and process flows to generate innovative ideas that are predictive and prescriptive (well beyond “what happened?”).Consults with Business stakeholders to determine and refine solution objectives.Understands and works with business partners to define data domains, data ownership, data governance, and data taxonomies in conjunction with CAH data governance practices.Create documentation and complete Knowledge Transfer for business process and data analytics parts of AI/ML solutions to Run team.Lead peer reviews of SQL code for other team membersMentor, guide, and support the junior business and data analysts on the team.

Qualifications

Experience analyzing data using SQL, R, and/or Python for data models in GCP (BigQuery, and other GCP services)Prior experience working with data science teams for data preparation and transformations to help ensure end-to-end data qualityActively collaborates with data engineers, data scientists and business leaders to provide design input and rapid prototypesStrong customer focus and interaction to listen to users, explore the data, and present multiple alternatives to meet solution objectives.Ability to create a data story with visualizations using Tableau and/or PowerBIKnowledge of data governance and security best practices for data platforms on GCPAgile development skills and experienceAbility to effectively communicate and train business users on newly developed dashboards and reportsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAn analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving with strong attention to detail combined with big-picture thinkingBA, BS or equivalent experience in related field Advance Degree may be preferred8-12 years experience preferred

Anticipated salary range: $103,500 - $147,900
