**Work Schedule** Standard (Mon-Fri) **Environmental Conditions** Office **Job Description** **COMPANY:** Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. **LOCATION:** 168 Third Ave, Waltham, MA 02451 **TITLE:** Sr. Database Administrator **HOURS:** Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm **DUTIES:** + Workwithdevelopersanddomainexpertstoestablishatechnicalvision andevaluatetrade-offsbetweenusabilityandperformance. + Utilize advanced troubleshooting techniques to deliver unique and tailored solutions to meet our customers' specific needs. + Act as a key point of contact between the business functions and IT. + Workwithusersacrossallorganizationallevelstoanalyzeandconvert businessrequirementsinto databasespecifications. + Critically assessinformationfrom various sources, resolveconflicts, and differentiate between user requests and actual needs. + Translatehigh-levelinformationintodetailedrequirements andsummarize detailed information effectively. + Communicate and collaborate with users to analyzetheir information needs and functional requirements. + Actasaliaisonbetweenbusiness,technology,andsupportteamstoensure clear and efficient communication. + Participate in the Service Desk function to address and resolve user-related support calls. + Develop and implement test plans, and provide communication and training to end users for new functionalities. + Createnewreports anddashboards tocapturemetricsfor operational and business users. + Work directly with Amazon Web Services architects toreplicate and resolve customer issues. **TRAVEL:** Reports to company headquarters in Waltham, MA. Can work remotely or telecommute. **REQUIREMENTS:** MINIMUM Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field of study. MINIMUM Experience Requirement: 6 years of experience as a Database Administrator, Technical Analyst or a related occupation.
