We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Datapath Software Developer with deep expertise in C/C++ and Python, and a proven track record in contributing to and leading open-source community development, specifically within DAOS (Distributed Asynchronous Object Storage) or similar distributed storage systems. Experience with DevOps tools and methodologies is highly desirable for this role.   Key Responsibilities: DAOS Community Leadership: Lead and actively contribute to the development of DAOS open-source projects. Engage with the DAOS community to shape the direction of the project, drive code contributions, and foster collaboration. Subsystem Development: Own the design, development, and optimization of key subsystems within the DAOS storage architecture, driving efficiency and performance across the platform. C/C++ and Python Expertise: Apply deep knowledge in C/C++ and Python programming to contribute scalable, high-performance code to the DAOS project. Collaboration in Open Source: Work closely with engineers and developers in the open-source community, ensuring alignment between community-driven and internal development efforts. DevOps Practices: Integrate DevOps tools and processes to streamline development, testing, and deployment, ensuring continuous integration and delivery in the open-source environment. Code Contributions & Reviews: Regularly contribute code to the DAOS repository, perform thorough code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices in open-source development. Performance Tuning: Analyze system bottlenecks and implement optimizations for high-throughput and low-latency data access in large-scale DAOS deployments. Mentorship and Community Growth: Mentor junior contributors in the community and guide newcomers in contributing to DAOS. Help grow and maintain an inclusive, healthy developer community. Problem Solving: Provide solutions to complex technical challenges faced by the DAOS community and customers leveraging DAOS for their high-performance computing and AI workloads.   Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software development, with significant experience in distributed storage systems and open-source development. Expertise in C/C++ and Python programming languages, with a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design.   Experience with DevOps tools and methodologies, including CI/CD, automation, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Proven experience in contributing to open-source projects, preferably within the DAOS community or similar large-scale, distributed storage solutions. Experience with DAOS, object storage systems, or parallel file systems is required. Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a passion for community engagement and driving open-source initiatives forward. Experience developing Linux or BSD kernel-level code is a plus. Go language experience is a plus.   VDURA Culture & Values At VDURA, we’re committed to transforming data into the catalyst for groundbreaking human advancements. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity within the company.
