Key Accountabilities

Collaborate with the Marketing Team, Sales, Engineering, Quality, Planning, Purchasing and Operations to ensure we deliver a successful project, on time, at acceptable revenues, with zero quality defectsMaintain ownership of numerous new product introductions, development activities and Engineering projects across all functional lines and operating sitesManage projects tightly to detailed master program schedules and milestones.  Coordinate schedule compliance for all deliverables.  Manage impact of material and delivery schedules to the operational aspects of the businessLead and Participate in RBS events (the company’s operating management system based on the Toyota Production System and the Strategy Deployment Process - advanced Hoshin Planning methodology)Maintain and improve existing productsTrain and mentor less senior engineersCreate and maintain policies, procedures, engineering standards, programs, and work instructionsAssist in Identifying & driving continuous improvement opportunities within the facilities and at our supplier’s locations.Contribute to the breakthrough product development process

Job Requirements, Capabilities and Success Factors

10+ years of Engineering Work Experience in the field of design of mechanical components (bearings and/or mechanical seals)5+ years experience in New Product/New Process DevelopmentRequires a Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline, Master’s degree preferredWorking knowledge of 3D Solid Modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO, and/or CATIAAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint Six Sigma Green Belt is a plusStrong customer service orientation/ High level of interpersonal skills  Capable of working and leading within a team structureDetail oriented and self-motivatedStrong writing/administrative skills, including computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, Minitab, etc.) Working knowledge of engineering part drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and TolerancingBackground in metal manufacturing environment including metal cutting and grinding is required Experience in root cause analysis and formal problem solving techniques Demonstrated success in the ability to consistently multitask Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment is desirable Knowledge of Stage Gate ProcessCapable of occasional travel to customers and other plantsGeneral working knowledge of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools (including SPC, GR&R, DOE, FMEA, Control Plans, DMAIC, FAI, Cost of Quality)
