Although services are a bigger part of Apple’s business than ever before, these teams remain nimble, and cross-functional, offering greater exposure to the array of opportunities here. **Description** As a member of our team you will be working on services and data pipelines directly supporting features in Apple Music, Books, and Podcasts. You’ll have the opportunity to evolve and own the future of several core data sets used within Apple Music. You will be responsible for crafting an approach to ensuring that these datasets maintain data quality thresholds as they evolve. You will be a self starting, ambitious individual who is not afraid to question assumptions. You will have excellent written and oral skills. You will have the ability to optimally work and communicate technical concepts with all levels of the engineering organization as well as our partner in operations, legal, and business development. You should have several years of experience developing server-side software using Java/Scala and preferably have experience working with Spark data pipelines. You live and breath automation, and believe in continuous improvement. You should join our team to help deliver the next amazing Apple product! **Minimum Qualifications** + At least 5+ years and Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or similar. + Experience with distributed computing technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Flink + Proficiency in Scala, Java, and SQL. + Familiarity with data visualization tools, excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, and the ability to communicate sophisticated insights effectively. + Expertise in crafting, implementing, and supporting highly scalable data systems and services. + Expertise in building and running large-scale data pipelines, including distributed messaging systems like Kafka, data ingestion from various sources to feed batch and near-realtime or streaming compute components. + A solid understanding of data modeling and architecture optimized for big data patterns, such as efficient storage and querying on HDFS. + Experience with distributed storage and network resources, including hosts, clusters, and Data Centers, to troubleshoot and prevent performance issues. + Strong written and oral communication skills **Key Qualifications** **Preferred Qualifications** + Familiarity with Data Quality Attributes + Data analysis and data science background are preferred. + Familiarity with Apache Iceberg tables, Docker, Kubernetes, and Apache Airflow is also helpful. + A background in data science or statistics, with the ability to provide scientific support to the team. **Education & Experience** **Additional Requirements** **Pay & Benefits** + At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
