About the job
The Health and Life Science R&D team is looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer to contribute to a team that provides shared services related to the creation and maintenance of our pre-production environments and developer tools. Our team is critical to enabling our development teams and our mission as we continue to release cloud-first, cloud-native, as-a-service offerings.
As a Sr. DevOps Engineer, you will:
Build, Install, and Deploy high-quality test cloud environments with varying configurations, including web server, application server, databases, and all applicable SAS servers and developer tools within established timelines, while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.Designs and develops high-quality, testable, scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.Actively involves other project stakeholders (e.g. managers, developers, user interface and visual designers, product managers) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.Maintain cloud infrastructure deployments to support R&D teams and follow technical standards to ensure solutions execute correctly across various supported environmentsInvestigate customer-reported issues and resolve them on time.Write and maintain build and deployment scripts used by Jenkins, GitHub actions, and other tools.Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in build, install, and cloud deployments.Good understanding of continuous build and deployment processes on various cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.Experience with CI/CD tools and cloud technologies such as GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Container orchestration.Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, preferably in Computer Science or related field.Experience with any object-oriented language (Java, C++) and Shell or Python scripting experience. Experience with Infrastructure As Code (IaC) and Deployment As Code (DaC) to install, configure, and manage infrastructure through automation.Experience installing/deploying SAS and ViyaFamiliarity with enterprise application security conceptsFamiliarity with Linux and its utility programsAdministrative level certification in public cloud offerings such as Azure, AWS, or GCPBroad understanding and embrace of Agile software development and Software Configuration Management.Excellent communication and coordination skills.World-Class Benefits
