Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President, Global Employee Communications you’ll help our Global Employee Communications team bring to life our team’s goal to engage, inspire, and activate employees to live our purpose, priorities, and values. Everything moves quickly at a high-growth company, and we’re looking for someone to work across the many facets of our team. The Senior Director, Employee Storytelling and Editorial Strategy, will be responsible for our end-to-end approach to communicating to and about our employees (think everything from our comms channel ecosystem to writing style/guidelines to in-depth features and a variety of video content).

In this role, you’ll bring together two talented arms of the team into one integrated effort — focusing on streamlining, alignment, and scaling for growth. One on side, we have our global employee channel ecosystem, which includes leading our employee portal evolution, refreshing our channel ecosystem, and ensuring our content governance model is upheld. This requires big-picture thinking while also maintaining a meticulous attention to detail to make sure we continue to deliver amazing employee content and experience — all delivered on our Now Platform in partnership with our Digital Technology team. On the other side, we have our employee storytelling team, which includes our talent brand efforts (in partnership with our Marketing and Brand teams), creating compelling and engaging stories about our employees and our ServiceNow culture in various formats. You’ll find new ways to reach larger audiences by elevating our approach and extending across channels — internally and externally.

Who you are:

Leader: You’ll create and oversee strategy from conception to implementation and motivate a team behind a shared vision.Communicator: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with executives, stakeholders, and vendors at all levels. Also needs to be an excellent writer, editor, and storyteller.Organizational expert: Resourceful, self-motivated, and able to independently prioritize shifting workloads in a high-growth, ever-changing environment, ensuring that the work completed is exceptional and delivered on time.Metrics-driven: A passion for using metrics and data for informed decision making, and experience with influencing business partners with metrics.Collaborator: A cross-functional guru who can unite business partners, senior leaders, and executivesProblem solver: Can see solutions through difficult situations and easily removes barriers so their team can execute successfully.Curious: Loves to figure out how things work and create unique employee engagement strategies.Creative: Thinks outside of the box while developing original ideas to engage new and existing audiences.

QualificationsExperience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry. Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field required. Advanced degree (MBA, Writing, Strategic Communications, or related) recommended.12+ years proven success guiding strategy and execution of global digitally driven communications that inform and delight employees.People management experience is a must.Ability to flex with fast growth and frequent change and adapt plans and approaches in real time. (Experience in a hypergrowth tech company is a plus!)Experience building and executing a multifunctional communications strategy.Experience crafting executive-level thought leadership and social strategies aligned to external visibility programs.Ability to stay on top of key trends and data to inform content development strategies.Experience working in a matrixed environment; strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to drive coordination across stakeholders.Exceptional messaging and writing skills; attention to detail and accuracy in all communications deliverables.Ability to manage multiple communication projects simultaneously and drive strong work-back plans, designed to drive measurable goals and business outcomes.Can collaboratively work with agency partners, business partners, and vendors.Strong natural ability to identify, develop, and tell a great story across multiple mediums and channels.

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $216,500 - $389,700, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
