Position Description:
Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, the Corporate Controller plays a critical role within the finance team and is responsible for overseeing the production of financial reporting for the Company. You will review and validate financial results for actual and forecast submissions, have direct oversight over the Company’s corporate accounting systems and intercompany accounting teams, and work closely with the Chief Accounting Officer on all aspects of corporate accounting and finance. You will collaborate closely with FP&A, SEC Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Corporate Development and Investor Relations and will be a key point of contact for operating companies (OpCos) regarding accounting and reporting issues. Candidate Profile and Responsibilities:
Oversee Corporate’s operational accounting, debt and equity accounting, intercompany accounting and charge out activity, and the global consolidation for actuals, forecast and budget submissions Supervise employee benefit accounting, such as stock-based compensation, pension and other complex matters, including interacting with the SEC team on 10K and proxy requirements Serve as a key point of contact for Corporate, OpCo’s and the internal audit team in interpretations of GAAP and company policies Prepare and/or review segment reporting, operating margin performance, free cash flow reporting, and any ad-hoc requests for analyses and information for Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, and Corporate Development. Oversee intercompany accounting policies at the legal entity level to support global Tax planning and ensure appropriate eliminations occur in consolidation. Collaborate closely with Tax, Treasury, and global finance teams to execute tax planning programs between subsidiaries and providing technical accounting guidance as needed Lead the financial integration of acquired entities and support the opening balance sheet accounting and reporting Oversee corporate financial systems including the OneStream consolidation system, intercompany accounting system, and lease accounting and other administration systems Support the review of 10-Q’s, 10-K’s, and other external reports, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations Oversee accounting procedures manual and provide input to the accounting policy manual Lead and drive the continuous improvement of finance processesExperience and Attributes
BS or BA Degree in Finance or Accounting and CPA designation required. Approximately 15 or more years of experience in finance and accounting with a history of progressively more complex responsibilities. Management experience in a large international accounting firm is preferred. Strong global business perspective with understanding of a multinational organization with multiple business units is preferred. Strong technical background in SEC reporting for large public companies, US GAAP, and ability to understand, implement and communicate very technical issues in an effective manner. Experience running a global consolidation, managing complexities of intercompany eliminations and foreign currency matters, and the financial aspects of acquisitions and divestitures, including post-merger integration. Will be a team player and a proactive leader who is proven in building successful teams. Must have the ability to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint as well as from a financial perspective. Must be a strong communicator who is well versed in the details but capable of bridging accounting concepts to senior management with a broad, business-oriented view. Will be an independent worker with the ability to operate in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment making difficult accounting and financial-related decisions. Must be able to drive and manage change, be creative, and possess a strong desire to win and a passion to lead the finance team as a lean, efficient, results-oriented organization.
