YOUR IMPACT
The Senior Director, Security Architecture and Strategy will lead the development, implementation, and evolution of OpenText’s security architecture and strategic security initiatives. This role will drive the creation of innovative security frameworks, ensuring robust protection across the organization’s infrastructure, applications, and data assets. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of security principles, a proactive approach to risk management, and the ability to align security strategy with business goals.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
• Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of OpenText’s security architecture to ensure a scalable, resilient, and secure technology infrastructure.
• Drive security architecture decisions and lead a team of security architects in designing secure systems, applications, networks, and cloud environments.
• Develop long-term security plans that address both current and emerging risks, and ensure alignment with the organization’s business objectives.
• Reduce the need for review cycles by providing solution architecture and engineering teams with security patterns they can drop directly into their products and platforms from day one to be “pre-compliant” with enterprise security standards.
• Lead the integration of security frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS controls, into the organization’s security operations and compliance strategy.
• Lead the identification and assessment of security risks, including emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Oversee the integration of threat intelligence into security decision-making, ensuring proactive threat detection and response capabilities.
• Collaborate with the incident response team to drive continuous improvement in security posture following real-world security incidents.
• Foster a culture of security awareness and collaboration across the organization, partnering with other business units to ensure a holistic approach to security.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in security and architecture, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation.
• Lead the continuous improvement of security policies, processes, and practices, ensuring they remain effective in the face of evolving cyber threats.
• Collaborate with other teams such as engineering, operations, and compliance to integrate security best practices into the development lifecycle, cloud adoption, and IT infrastructure.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are highly desirable.
• At least 12-15 years of large enterprise experience in information security, with a significant portion in security architecture, strategy, and leadership roles.
• Strong experience in designing secure architectures for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise infrastructures.
• Deep knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, CIS, etc.), risk management practices, and industry standards.
• Expertise in security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, identity and access management (IAM), endpoint protection, and encryption.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and others.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives, and effectively communicate complex security concepts to business leaders.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to align security initiatives with organizational goals and drive value through security investments.
