Building upon the recent introduction of a centralized People Partner function in the US, this is an exceptional opportunity to partner with HR leadership to shape and influence how we innovate our service delivery and expand the People Partner function globally. This position will provide thought leadership as well as day-to-day leadership and management to a global organization for HR advisory and support services, while also taking a leadership role as we continue to mature our HR Shared Services function. The Global Leader will ensure consistent, efficient support for employees and managers at scale, deliver local driving results through advanced case management, policy, and compliance support. This leader will oversee complex cases, and ensure that HR strategies are aligned with business objectives. They will also act as a strategic partner to an evolving business and provide data-driven insights to inform HR strategies. **Key Responsibilities** **Strategic Leadership:** + Serve as a trusted advisor to senior HR leaders, understanding their objectives and offering strategic HR solutions that support organizational growth. + Collaborate with HR leaders to anticipate workforce challenges, diagnose trends and root causes and guide the team in developing tailored HR strategies that align with business goals. + Ensure the People Partner team uses business insights to support managers and employees effectively, driving performance and engagement across the organization. **Organizational Management:** + Lead, mentor, and develop a team of leaders and People Partners, ensuring they provide effective HR support across the business. + Ensure the team delivers high-quality HR consultationsand case management support, balancing consistency with flexibility based on business context. + Drive organization performance by setting clear goals, monitoring progress, and offering regular feedback. **Knowledge &** **Expertise** **:** + To help build and scale the global People Partner organization and guide and support their team, the Global Leader should possess knowledge and expertise in the following areas: _Employee Relations_ _(ER)_ _Support_ _:_ + Advise on, and help resolve,peopleissues and concerns. Partner with, and escalate to, ER where appropriate. + Mediate and help resolve interpersonal conflicts and misunderstandings. + Conduct intake interviews with complainants and triage to the appropriate teamdepending on the issues raised. Review and investigate concerns and grievances or escalate to ER. + Support, and ensure compliance with, corporate disciplinary action processes. + Support time and attendance issues, including long term leave situations and unscheduled absences, along with any related performance or disciplinary actions. + Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and regulations. _Performance Management:_ + Ability to guide managers through the performance review process, providing coaching and advice on setting goals, offering feedback, and managing underperformance. + Support the development and implementation of improvement goals and performance improvement plans (PIPs). _HR Operational Collaboration:_ + Partner on organizational changes, restructuring, and mergers. + Help manage the human impact of change, including communication, engagement, and transition planning. + Collaborate with business to understand their goals and provide tailored HR strategies that support their objectives. + Facilitate conversations around HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, employee satisfaction) and make recommendations for enterprise-wide improvements. _Policy & Compliance:_ + Support efforts to update and revise HR policies in alignment with organizational culture and business needs, while remaining compliant with applicable regulations at all levels. + Partner with Employee Relations and HR Compliance to monitor and support compliance with laws and regulations and any government mandated reporting, ensuring the organization stays ahead of legal and regulatory changes. + Serve as the sponsor for HR compliance matters for the business, advising on how policies can impact business operations and mitigate risk. **Basic Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or complimentary field. + MBA or equivalent graduate degree are a plus. + 14+ years of experience with a Bachelors degree, 12+ years of experience with a MS/MA/MBA. + At least 10+ years performing in a like People Partner role. + Experience leading a large diverse global team with experience forming new teams and developing talent + Strong knowledge ofUS and international HR practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements. + Ability to understand, simplify and integrate complex country requirements into global practices and philosophies. **Preferred Qualifications** + Proven experience in handling employee relations, talent management, and change management. + Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work strategically and operationally, leveraging intended processes but taking a hands-on approach when necessary. + Fluency with data and metrics and translating data into actionable insights + Fluency with process design and continuous improvement techniques + Experience working with case management systems (e.g. ServiceNow) and HR analytics. + Certifications like SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR are a plus. **Disclaimer** **:** This is a US-based role that will help to shape and influence how HR innovates our service delivery and expand the People Partner function globally. The salary range for this position is: $243,100.00 - $314,600.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
