Sr. Director, Head of Corporate & Employee Technology
Job Description *Candidates for this role must be local to Chicago, IL and comfortable hybrid onsite 2-3 days per week. We are seeking an experienced senior engineering leader US technology organization as the Head of Corporate Employee Technology. In this critical leadership role, reporting to the US CIO, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and overseeing the successful delivery of software financial solutions, architecture, and automation supporting te business leaders of Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Fraud and Operations through innovative and secure engineering practices. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge in designing and developing distributed systems, cloud technologies, managing engineering teams, implementing financial SAP, and integrating SaaS solutions. Previous experience in lid to large commercial banking and/or the financial services industry is required. Responsibilities:   Develop a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with business goals to prioritize capital investment and ensure technology capabilities keep pace with business growth and expectations.   Lead and manage the Corporate & Employee Technology team, providing strategic direction and guidance to ensure the successful delivery of software and projects to meet business demands.   Oversee the entire software development lifecycle from requirements gathering and design to coding, testing and deployment, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.   Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to understand business needs, identify opportunities for innovation, provide strategic guidance on technology solutions and align technology efforts with business goals and priorities.   Apply cross-functional technical expertise and business knowledge, ensuring the use of industry best practices and emerging technologies.   Manage and mentor a diverse team of software engineers, testers, project managers, and application support engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment and promoting professional and technical skills growth and development.   Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners, ensuring successful delivery of contracted services and driving vendor performance. Skills and Requirements Minimum of 10 years within hands-on software engineering prior to leadership - focus on SAP, public cloud (ideally Azure), and Microsoft stack .NET technologies preferred. 5+ years in a senior executive leadership role with ability to develop and execute a multi-year technology roadmap and grow large software engineering teams. Experience within a mid to large bank or financial services institution industry with strong understanding of financial modernization efforts, financial/fraud architecture and API strategies, financial standards, regulations, and compliance requirements. Extensive experience developing applications and designing scalable, secure and high-performance distributed systems. Experience implementing SAP as a core/financial system is highly preferred. Strong understanding of business and technical architecture, API solutions, and architectural challenges within a financial organization or bank. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven the ability to directly collaborate with and influence C-Suite business executives such as the CFO, CHRO, Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Regulatory Officer, etc. (having the ability to speak technology at a high level transferable to the business/non-technical executives). Proven experience managing large software engineering teams, including performance management, coaching and mentoring. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results with tight deadlines. Strong understanding of the software development life cycle, including agile methodologies. Hands on experience implementing Microsoft Power Platform (including its tools Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages).
