Job Summary
Senior Director of Real Estate will be responsible for leading the development and execution of real estate strategies to support the organization's business objectives across all three divisions (Pharmaceutical & Specialty Solutions Distribution, Retail Pharmacy, and Corporate functions). The role will focus on optimizing our real estate portfolio by identifying opportunities for cost savings, driving efficiency in operations, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This position requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of real estate principles.
Specific Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive real estate strategies that align with the organization's overall business strategy.Lead initiatives to optimize the use of real estate assets, including property acquisitions, disposals, lease renewals, and restructurings.Oversee real estate projects from concept through completion, managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder engagement.Identify opportunities for process improvements within real estate operations, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the real estate team, fostering professional growth and development.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, facilities management, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of real estate initiatives.Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes affecting real estate practices, incorporating best practices into organizational policies and procedures.Manage external partnerships related to real estate services, such as brokerage firms, construction companies, architects, engineers, and other consultants.Prepare and present regular updates on real estate activities to senior leadership and board committees, highlighting key accomplishments and future plans.Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and reporting requirements related to real estate transactions and investments.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Urban Planning, or a related field; MBA preferred.At least 10 years of experience in commercial real estate, including both public and private sector roles.Key Competencies
Proven track record of success in developing and executing real estate strategies that drive value creation and operational efficiencies.Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing large teams and diverse projects.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling tools, with a solid grasp of accounting principles.Knowledge of relevant software applications for data analysis, mapping, and presentation purposes.Experience working with boards of directors and executive leadership.Ability to travel as needed for project site visits and meetings.We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
