Sr. Director, Service Line - Ophthalmology - Full Time

Job Summary:
In collaboration with the SVP, Chief Operating Officer GMG, the Ophthalmology Service Line Leader is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and management of the ophthalmology service line within The Guthrie Clinic. This role involves overseeing operations, enhancing patient care services, and fostering a collaborative environment with other system leaders. The leader will work closely with the Chief of Ophthalmology, physicians, administrative staff, and other system leaders to ensure high-quality service delivery and optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Strategic Planning: In partnership with strategy leadership, develop and implement short and long-term strategic goals for the ophthalmology service line in alignment with organizational objectives.
+ Clinical Leadership: Provide oversight for clinical operations, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance with regulatory standards.
+ Team Management: In partnership with Chief of Ophthalmology and GMG operations leadership, lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and caregivers to foster professional growth and enhance teamwork.
+ Quality Improvement: Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and satisfaction, including clinical outcomes, safety protocols, and service delivery efficiency.
+ Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, financial performance, and resource allocation for the ophthalmology service line to ensure sustainability and profitability.
+ Patient Care: Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care by maintaining a focus on patient safety, satisfaction, and engagement.
+ Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other service lines and departments to enhance integrated care models and improve overall patient experiences.
+ Community Engagement: Build relationships with community organizations, stakeholders, and referring physicians to enhance service line visibility and accessibility.
Qualifications:
+ Education: Bachelor degree required, Masters Degree Preferred
+ Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ophthalmology practice, with prior leadership or management experience preferred.
+ Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to manage complex projects and foster teamwork; proficiency in data analysis and quality improvement methodologies.
