Sr. Director, Supply Chain Optimization

The Senior Director of Supply Chain Optimization will be responsible for developing capabilities, working with the Merchandising team to optimize the flow of goods from vendors through our Supply Chain network, leveraging analytics in the most efficient method possible. The leader of this team will actively engage with Merchandising, Transportation, DC Operations, and Supply Chain Strategy teams. This position will report to the Vice President Supply Chain Strategy.

Job Description:

Network design including vendor supplier sites, distribution centers, stores as well as product flows between them.  Strategic objectives like inbound and outbound demand forecasting, supplier collaboration, and the planning and scheduling of merchandise flow.

Includes the creation of a strategic supply chain deployment plan, inventory planning, and the coordination of assets. This is to optimize delivery of goods, services, and data from supplier to stores and customers — balancing supply and demand.

Assist in developing and putting into practice a supply chain solution to create the recurring analysis and duties generating ongoing cost-saving measures.  In order to eliminate waste, examine present procedures and suggest or implement improvements.  Proactively control key performance indicators, undertake root cause analysis.  Leverage item and supplier level data to build key supply chain solutions.

Manage the Reverse Logistics and Vendor Compliance functions, develop and implement strategies to improve vendor performance and efficiency of returns processes.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or relevant field study or equivalent years of related work experience requiredMaster’s Degree a plus

Work Experiences:

10+ years of supply chain, analytics, project management and network optimizationDemonstrated track record of successful and effective planning, design, testing and deployment of Supply Chain AnalyticsExperience leading and implementing workforce strategies and staffing models that enable the business to meet financial, customer and team member needsInventory planning, merchandising optimization, or similar experience planning effective flow of merchandiseDemonstrated experience driving operational excellence through effective communications strategies and prioritization tactics

Skills:

Responsibilities:

Leverage data analytics to develop insights that drive strategic improvement opportunities with vendor, merchant, transportation, and distribution teams.Responsible for accurate end-to-end streamlined supply chain reporting and analysis.Effective at driving vendor improvements executing against standard operating procedures.Collaborate cross-functionally across the organization and partner with 3PLs to develop and improve reverse logistics' operating efficiencies.Reviews and analyzes incoming orders, available capacity, current lead times, and competitive lead times to determine direction for any required capacity adjustment.Monitors releases against estimated ship dates and release orders to meet customer date and business plan.Utilizes performance management tools and transportation management systems to calculate metrics, freight spend and savings, and other supply chain improvements.Maintains excellent customer service relationships with all stores, corporate personnel, outside vendors, carriers and internal DC team members and managers.Evaluates Store delivery schedules and general operations and recommends service improvements or development of new deliveries.Constantly evaluates and challenges current Supply Chain practices for long term growth of both DC and stores.Develop a team of high performing leaders that are collaborative and innovative.Responsibilities may change; team members may be required to perform other tasks as assigned.
