Sr. Director, Support Services

The Senior Director of Support Services, IMVH improves performance in the management of the physical environment as indicated by select quantitative measurements determined annually. Provides a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors and reduces environmental hazards and risks. Responsible for environmental, food services, patient safety, and patient transportation.

Job Responsibilities

Oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, preparing and implementing business strategy to achieve the organization’s goals, ensuring legal compliance, communicating and collaborating with stakeholders, managing employment decisions and contributions of supporting team members, and managing departmental budget and fiscal success.Responsible for completion of preventive maintenance orders, preventive maintenance inspection of Nurse Call System, and high priority work orders.Monitors all forensic patients by providing law enforcement with orientation and regular communication with clinical staff; Provides safe effective interventions in the ED for behavioral health and at-risk patients.Manages and monitors professionalism and courtesy of security staff through reports and investigates and addresses complaints.Responsible for the food service program for Inova Hearth Institute; Conducts patient satisfaction surveys regarding food service at least quarterly; Meets expected KPI for patient satisfaction surveys regarding food service a quarterly and annually using system satisfaction data; Acts as Liaison to resolve and ensure lease compliance for all food service real estate entities on campus; Provides nutritious meals at the right time and temperature to IFH/IFHC staff, patients, and families.Operates Transport Service according to Policies and Procedures of the Transport Service; Responds for service within defined KPI's and department goals; Maintain patient satisfaction within department goal.Monitors and maintains consistent internal and external customer and patient satisfaction thru Safety always reports.Determines educational and training needs of staff based on annual assessment of individuals and follows up with an educational plan to meet needs; Provides staff counseling and initiates discipline process when necessary as evidenced by documentation.Coordinates and monitors the development of annual budgets if applicable.Work to establish Strategic Lean opportunities using the Inova Operating System methodology for all services.


Minimum Requirements:

5 years of related experience in safety, emergency management, patient access, supply chain, design & construction, etcBachelor's degree in related field (or relevant experience in lieu of degree equivalent to 4 years)

Preferred Qualifications:

Six sigma/lean certifiedExperience successfully leading strategic projects in a matrixed environmentExperience in strategic support or Chief of Staff/COO type of roles
