Summary:

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for Vivint’s Smart Home App that brings together all of NRG Consumer experiences in a single App to deliver the home of the future. This future home will be personalized to every household. It will make them feel cared for and will work on their behalf, giving back time, keeping them safe, and saving them money.

You will be the Vertical Leader (single threaded owner), leading a cross-functional group of leaders across Product Management, Engineering, Design, QA, Program Management, Customer Research, Data, and AI to deliver this future through the App. You will also collaborate with your peer Product Vertical Leaders as well as key stakeholders that run our Energy Business, Brand, Marketing, and IT functions at NRG to deliver this app. This is a high-visibility, high-stake position that sets the direction of experiences across NRG and delivers growth, engagement, and personalized experiences to millions of NRG customers. To do so, you will need to be an astute and experiential Product Leader that understands customer needs, technology possibilities, and business goals, channeling them to deliver the next generation of experiences for households in the US. You will use both creative and analytical skills to identify opportunities, define product strategy, build a collaborative roadmap across all Verticals, support as well as execute the roadmap development, and maintain the overall performance of the App.

Primary Responsibilities:

As an individual contributor:

Oversee the mobile strategy and a collaborative roadmap definition to increase our engagement, growth (monetization), consistency, and performance of the appDefine and monitor success metrics and offer data-driven insights to inspire new features, tools, and experiments that drive engagement, growth, and performance of the appWork closely with peer Vertical leads to identify feature development opportunities as well as help them deliver their part of the app roadmap.Work with User Research and Analytics to develop a deep understanding of our customers to ensure the product roadmap is grounded in their needsTake an active role in driving features to launch, ensuring product roadmap is translated into clear product and thereafter engineering as well as testing requirements

Manage, mentor, and develop a team of product managers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellenceGuide the team in setting objectives, prioritizing roadmap, and delivering impactful resultsCoach the individuals on your team for growth, helping them develop the skills necessary to meet their goals and drive business impact

Required Skills: 

Ability to define product vision, roadmap, strategy and UX Design for a large, experiential product that serves millions of customersAbility to lead complex products that cut across many leaders in a large organizationExperience in leading E2E product lifecycle with knowledge of software engineering practices & patternsBe a functional lead for product management as well as a cross-functional leader/GM for the verticalAbility to communicate and build trust with the senior most leaders in the organization

Required Education/Experience:

B.S. or M.S. in a Business or Technical FieldMBA preferredProven track record of shipping customer-facing products and experiences to millions of usersExperience leading cross-functional teams across product, program, design, engineering, QA, data, and AIExperience applying machine learning approaches to complex problemsExperience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers at scaleExperience with Design Language SystemsUnderstanding of how to use Data and AI to uncover new opportunities & improve customer experience

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
