Sr. Director, Workforce Manager

As a Workforce Management Strategy & Implementation Senior Director at McKesson, you will play a pivotal role in developing, designing, implementing, and optimizing a new workforce management capability and function. You will be responsible for working with a cross-functional team to develop and execute strategies that ensure the efficient allocation of frontline, hourly-resources, optimization of staffing levels, and the overall effectiveness of the workforce across McKesson’s distribution centers. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing and optimizing workforce management processes, utilizing workforce management software and tools, and driving data-driven decision making in a frontline environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to define the vision, goals, and objectives of the new workforce management capability. Develop a comprehensive strategy that aligns with the company's overall business strategy as well as business-unit specific operational requirements.

2. Process Design and Implementation: Design and implement robust workforce management processes, including time and attendance, demand forecasting, capacity planning, scheduling, real-time monitoring, and performance analytics. Ensure these processes are compliant, scalable, efficient, and aligned with industry best practices.

3. Technology Evaluation Partner with McKesson Technology to assess existing workforce management tools and identify gaps in functionality. Research and evaluate potential software solutions or platforms that can enhance workforce management capabilities.

4. Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop and maintain a robust reporting framework to track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve workforce productivity and efficiency. Utilize Data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. Generate regular reports and present insights to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

5. Vendor Management: Interface with 3rd-party / managed service providers to coordinate system and tool improvements, monitor for updates, compliance, service level agreements, and strategic roadmap development.

6. Change Management and Training: Responsible for design of change management and communication plans to ensure smooth adoption of new workforce management processes and technologies. Work across enterprise functions to provide training and support to managers and employees on the effective use of workforce management tools and techniques.

7. Continuous Improvement: Monitor the effectiveness of the workforce management capability and identify areas for improvement to enhance overall workforce management performance. Monitor the connection between relevant time, data, and payroll systems to identify impacts to ensure compliance and enable new functionality. Proactively seek feedback from stakeholders and implement enhancements to optimize efficiency and productivity. 

8. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Legal, Operations, Finance, and IT to align workforce management strategies with business objectives. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and ongoing maintenance and support.

9. Leadership: Build then lead a team whose members ensure quality day-to-day management of the function, effective stakeholder alignment, milestone tracking, process performance, and continuous improvement. Coach team members in developing and honing workforce management capabilities as they help build future-forward workforce practices. Drive effectiveness of the team to lead large scale, cross-functional and multi-stakeholder initiatives on-time and on-budget.

Experience & Skills You’ll Need:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is required; advanced degree preferred. Ideally 13+ years of relevant experience and a proven track record of successfully building and implementing workforce management and forecasting capabilities within a large, complex, public company.  Strong knowledge of workforce management principles, methodologies, and best practices, preferably in a distribution center or warehouse logistics environment.Familiarity, Ideally 5+ years experience with workforce management software, timekeeping and scheduling tools, and analytics platforms (Kronos/UKG, ADP, Workday preferred). Excellent financial acumen and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights and quantifiable return-on-investment analysis. Strong project management skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work across organizations to implement comprehensive workforce management plans, including partnership with Operations, HR, Legal, Finance and IT. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels including the c-suite. Change management experience, including developing and executing change management, communication, and training plans. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement. Lead without authority: Strong ability to influence stakeholder, often senior leaders, and lead cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals within stated timelines.

General office demandsMust have the ability to travel up to 25% of the timeDallas and Atlanta are preferred locations for this position. We will consider other locations, with regular travel to a hub location.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$141,400 - $235,600
