Position: Senior Director Ecommerce- DWR

Location: Connecticut/New York, open to remote


Overview of the Role

The Senior Director of E-commerce for DWR is responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive digital strategies to drive near and long-term sales growth. This pivotal leadership role oversees all aspects of the e-commerce business, from strategic planning to daily operations, while fostering innovation and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a proven track record of scaling e-commerce businesses, delivering exceptional digital customer experiences, and driving performance through data-driven decisioning.

Core Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive near and long-term e-commerce strategies to increase revenue and profitabilityMonitor and analyze e-commerce performance metrics to identify areas for improvementProvide regular reporting and insights on key performance indicators to senior leadership, informing strategic business decisions.Define and manage the digital user experience to improve engagement rates including the development and maintenance of a site merchandising plansOptimize the customer journey for both new and returning customers, focusing on opportunities for personalization and improving customer lifetime value and retention.Be highly collaborative, developing opportunities with Merchandising, Planning, Digital Product, Marketing, Store, and Customer Service team members.Coordinate with x-functional teams to create and optimize revenue-driving promotions and offeringsManages allocated budgets and provides strategic input on financial planning for e-commerce initiativesIdentify new areas of e-commerce opportunity beyond current organizational thinking that solve for customer needs in the digital spaceManage relationships with key vendors and technology partnersLead a cross-functional e-commerce team of specialists in site management, merchandising, production, and digital operationsProvide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to foster team growth and expertiseContinuously evaluate and improve organizational processes to enhance productivity and effectiveness

Qualifications  

Experienced ecommerce leader with knowledge of performance optimization tacticsSkilled in analytics tools and data-driven decision makingFamiliar with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (preferred)Strategic thinker with proven ability to execute tactically and deliver exceptional digital experiencesComprehensive understanding of e-commerce operationsKnowledge of operating an ecommerce business utilizing 1st and 3rd party solutionsAdept at balancing customer needs with business objectives in a dynamic environmentStrong business acumen with ability to identify opportunities and assess risksResults-oriented with a track record of high performanceExperienced in change management and strategic implementationExcellent interpersonal and influence skills with ability to build and maintain relationships at all levelsProven leadership in complex, matrix environmentsOutstanding written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present complex concepts clearly to executivesDemonstrated coaching and mentoring abilitiesInnovative thinker with capacity to connect disparate ideasAligns with executive competencies, driving strategy, fostering commitment, and promoting innovation

Education and Experience
 

Bachelor's Degree required, Masters Degree preferred10+ years of demonstrated success in an eCommerce role in a high performing retail business.7+ years leadership experience5+ years of project leadership experience; global project leadership experience preferredTrack record of leading cross-functional teams through significant organizational change or digital transformation, driving measurable improvements in efficiency and profitability
