Responsibilities Job Summary The Sr. Director of Operations for Oncology Services provides operational leadership ensuring ease of access and the efficient provision of high-quality cost-effective cancer care. This is a regional role with the HonorHealth Cancer Care Network. The Sr. Director will work collaboratively with the Vice President, Oncology Services to develop and deploy cancer clinical services supporting the mission, vision, and values of HonorHealth and Oncology Service Line (OSL). Areas of service line oversight include clinical care delivery, financial management, capital allocation / planning, space utilization, human resources (Action OI, Prod Indices, etc.), performance reporting, supply chain and ancillary services. Position Scope: This position reports to the Vice President, Oncology Services. This role has direct supervision of Oncology Practice Administrators within the HHCC network which requires collaboration and leadership within highly matrix models. This includes working closely with physician leaders, physicians and advanced practitioners and staff at HonorHealth, AZCCC, HHMG, and HHRI to assure continuous efficient operations, exceptional patient outcomes, clinical growth, care coordination, and integration of clinical activities. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Operations, Systems and Reporting: Assists in the development of operational, quality, financial and strategic objectives for the oncology service line. Supports patient care transitions between inpatient and outpatient services. Develops and empowers management teams to lead daily operations, resolve local issues, improve employee performance, enhance physician relations, champion high quality patient care and service excellence. Utilizing benchmarking data to continually achieve higher levels of excellence and cost effectiveness. Manages staff-to-volumes ratios and works to identify opportunities to streamline systems and processes to increase quality and/or reduce cost. Maintains and reports operational performance metrics aligned to organizational priorities and objectives. Project Management / Process Improvement: Develop and implement, in conjunction with management team, procedures, practices and work methods to ensure service line effectiveness and efficiency. Direct and/or assist with the development of project/PI scopes, objectives and assemble teams. Coordinate and participate in analytical studies and provide consultation as required/needed. Work collaboratively with Operational Intelligence, Process Improvement, and Quality. Planning, Analysis and Strategy: Develop business plans and presentations as requested and required. Assist in strategy development with service line leaders. Perform monthly and quarterly analyses as required by Service Line Leadership. Staff Development & Coaching: Identify development opportunities and provide coaching to help team positively impact business planning, revenue enhancement, expense management and financial excellence. Provides direction and oversight to the Payor Contracts Administrator and Specialist, as required. Demonstrates team and collaborative skills within Payor Contracting Team and HonorHealth as a whole. Understands Payor Contracting roles and can relieve others as required. Qualifications Experience 10 years Relevant and progressive leadership experience Required
