Overview The Sr. Quality Director will lead shaping and implementing our food safety strategy, as well as provide leadership to T. Marzetti Quality teams in our manufacturing and warehouse locations. This position will assess risk, drive continuous improvement, set and maintain the strategy, as well as drive excellence in food safety and quality. This individual will create alignment and commitment to our Food Safety Programs and initiatives to maintain the highest standards of food quality, safety, and compliance. Responsibilities · In collaboration with Operations and Food Safety leaders, this individual oversees and executes programs and policies to ensure the consistent production of safe and high-quality food products. · Leads all quality systems (policy/document control), predictive quality (Red Zone), Reporting/Scorecard Development, Sanitation/Pest Control, Microbiology, Internal Audit, Customers. · Leads and develops Food Safety & Quality Managers at manufacturing sites to deliver products that meet or exceed our customer/consumer and regulatory requirements. · Stays up to date with local, state, and federal food safety regulations and ensures that all products and processes comply with these standards. · Oversees company-wide internal audit processes and closure of corrective actions, verifying readiness for external audits and compliance to regulatory requirements. · Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to establish and maintain quality and safety standards for incoming ingredients and materials. · Develop and coach teams who educate employees on quality and food safety protocols and best practices to promote a culture of quality throughout all manufacturing sites. · Work closely and proactively with teams to develop and implement systems/protocols for handling food safety incidents and product recalls, if necessary. · Responsible for ensuring the analysis and sharing of data to decrease risk, decrease defects, improve efficiencies and improve customer experience. · Identify opportunities for continuous improvements and cost savings while maintaining product quality and safety. · Work closely and effectively with sanitation, R&D, supply chain, and regulatory to ensure alignment on all quality objectives. · Monitor quality and safety performance and leading action/resolution planning across assigned facilities. Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or other related science field. · 12-15+ years of progressive experience in quality within the food industry. Manufacturing production/operations experience desired. · 10-15 years supervisory/management experience, including previous experience successfully leading and developing managers and teams. · Previous experience working in a food manufacturing facility. · Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards. · Knowledge and/or certification in FSMA, HAACP, GFSI, PCQI · Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach is required. Ability to build strong relationships and influence others, especially within Operations. · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate data and make sound decisions. · Experience with SAP preferred. · Must be able to travel up to 35%.
