How will you make an impact? 

Mikros, a Jabil Company, is expanding and looking to add an experienced Sr. Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Specialist to their growing team!  In this role, you would assist with the management, establishment, implementation, and maintenance of a safe, healthy work environment, compliant with all company, customer, and government regulations pertaining to health and safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental protection. Responsible for ensuring all safety objectives are implemented campus-wide.

What will you do?

Manage programs that support our environmental and safety goals; areas of responsibility could include accidents, emergency response, hazardous communications, radiation safety, industrial trucks, personal protective equipment, air pollution, water pollution, natural resource usage, hazardous waste, or other areas regulated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency or the United States Occupational Safety and Health AdministrationDevelop and maintain programs to support regulatory requirements and Jabil goalsAnalyze federal, state, and local legal requirements and develop programs to support complianceEnsures persons involved in programs are competent and addresses issues to increase compliance and conformance with company expectationsDocuments programs by writing, revising, and maintaining work instructions, procedures, and visual aidsMaintains records of the program as required by law and internal proceduresDetermines effectiveness of programs through the collection and analysis of data; develops and implements corrective actions based upon analysisPrepares reports for submission to corporate or regulatory bodies Inspecting or auditing for complianceInteract with internal and external customers, including facilitating government inspections, and providing information to government inquiriesIntegrate all activities into the environmental, and health and safety management systemsDevelop solutions to environmental or safety concernsServe as a subject matter technical resource to all levels of the organization in assigned areaSupport unassigned EHS programs as necessaryAdhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by the supervisor.Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy

How will you get here? 

Education: 

HS Diploma required.Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Environmental or Biological Sciences, Engineering, or a related field preferred.EHS-related certifications a plus but not required

Experience: 

2-5 years of experience in EHS, Safety, or related fieldManufacturing, Warehouse, distribution, or other industrial-related environments highly desired

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 

Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and training skillsAbility to interpret relevant legislation, and regulatory compliance procedures.Working knowledge of all applicable local, regional, and international government regulations that apply to environmental regulation, employees’ health and safety & hazardous substances management.Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of any of the following skills is a plus: Powered Industrial Truck or Forklift Trainer, Monitoring hazardous substances/waste, stormwater permitExperience in analyzing manufacturing processes, evaluating production machinery, and/or chemical exposures to determine safety and environmental hazards/risks and alternative solutions. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work with all levels within the organization and third parties.Competent in MS Office.
