Square’s mission demands increasingly sophisticated electrical designs that include integration of multiple technologies, RF, near-field communication (NFC), batteries, displays, multiple CPUs, and more. All of this must coexist with security, reliability, and low cost at high-volume manufacturing.
We are looking for a seasoned electrical design engineer who craves a challenge and is passionate about building great hardware. You will report to the Electrical Engineering Manager for one of our Square product teams.
You will:
Design circuits for Square’s hardware productsOptimize high-performance Android and low-power embedded systems for size, power, cost, and manufacturing at volumeWrite and clearly communicate specifications and design trade-off decisionsCollaborate with firmware, mechanical, and factory test engineers, developing cohesive, elegant solutionsWrite and execute validation plansPlan and support regulatory testingPerform failure analysis make design improvements to fielded productsTravel domestically and/or internationally 5-15%.
