JOB SUMMARY

Develops new engineering designs ranging from basic to high complexity. Develops and communicates technical solutions to other engineers and business personnel, relying on experience and understanding of their field and acting independently except in the most complex cases. Drive cross functional project teams in solving technical problems and overcoming hurdles that may affect project timelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Schematics capture for Server, Storage and network switch designWork with PCB engineer for Critical parts placement & routingCreate BOM & AVL, assist SCM people to pick strategic vendors & parts to meet design goalsPrototype bring-up & assist EVT & DVT builds for design related issuesSupport System validation as well as SPIT (Signal, Power, Integrity & Timing) measurementsSystem level debug and root cause analysisEnd of life re-design, new vendor qualification, and Design related issues found in Manufacturing or FieldSpeed bump increases to Memory, CPU, Ethernet switch and other critical system componentsWork with mechanical, software, firmware engineers to support new features & debug

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should have 5 or more years experience in Switch/PC/Server System design and maintainTypically, the following essential qualifications and experiences would be requested:Bachelor or Master in Electronics, computing, engineering or similarGood English speaking and literacyWorking knowledge of Broadcom, Intel, AMD, PMC, LSI, Qlogic, Emulex, Mellanox etc enterprise class chipsetsWorking knowledge of windows & Linux configuration, installation procedure, network configuration, driver configuration etcWorking knowledge of ACPI, IPMI 1.5 & 2.0Hands-on design knowledge of latest peripheral chipsets for Gigabit and 10G/40G/100G Ethernet, Converged Network Controllers, USB3.0, Fiber Channel, Infiniband, SAS/SATA & PCI-e cards etcHand-on design knowledge of high performance ARM, x86 CPUs and architecture inc. -Strong electrical design and debug skills required > 100MHz, Familiar with PCI-e, DDR & CPU QPI signaling for Scope analysis, DDR & DDR-II/III/IV timing and integrity analysis for clocks, strobes, S&H, Power bounce, temp stability etcHands-on design tools of Or-CAD, Concept, Allegro or Mentor Graphics
