The Avionics business unit at Collins Aerospace is seeking an onsite Electrical Engineering Program Lead to support Helmet Mounted Display programs in Wilsonville, OR. The Electrical Engineering Program Lead is the primary management interface for the electrical engineering effort on Helmet Mounted Display products. These electrical engineers manage program schedule, cost, and execution for the electrical engineering department.

What You Will Do:

Manage electrical engineering activities for a group of 1 to 8 electrical engineers

Coordinate the design activities for high reliability electrical hardware in Helmet Mounted Display systems

Create, execute, and track schedule and cost metrics for multiple programs

Coordinate activities with Systems, Mechanical, Optical, and Manufacturing engineering

Oversee and participate in preliminary design activities such as hardware architecture and design trade-studies

Oversee and participate in detailed design activities such as circuit analysis and schematic generation

Oversee and participate in circuit card layout

Oversee and participate in integration of circuit card prototypes

Support equipment qualification testing

Support manufacturing during early Helmet Mounted Display builds

Mentor less experienced electrical engineers

Present electrical engineering solutions to customers and management

Present schedule and cost data to management

Support bid activities

Support and participate in program planning activities

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Requires at least 5 years experience as an electrical or computer engineer

Requires at least 2 years experience designing circuit card assemblies

Requires experience presenting technical data to engineering teams

Requires the ability to travel less than 10% of a year

Qualifications We Prefer:

Preferred experience working on aerospace hardware or FPGA designs

Preferred experience working on video processing applications

Preferred experience designing high speed digital data links

Preferred experience with Earned Value Management

Preferred experience qualifying products to DO-160 or MIL-STD-461 standards

Preferred experience certifying products per DO-178 or DO-254 standards

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
